NY chicken lover!!!!

I don't know why you weren't getting the emails, your email is still in my 4H category, if you got that group email, then you should have gotten all the others.

Lets see if I can figure this out.

The last email I have from you is dated 4/7...a reminder that Rudy was giving a demo at the library.

My kids are really bummed they have missed out. We didn't quit. That wasn't an option. Both of my email accounts send notifications to my cell. I never miss an email. Just sent you another from my yahoo acct this time.

I hope it isn't too late this year for my munchkins to participate.

Thank you for your offer Donna! We have what we need this year for chickens.

As far as land...you are ahead of me! We have jack squat for land. I'd love to get a few Dexter cattle. Look them up...they sound amazing. And would love Nigerian Dwarf goats and a few pygmy goats and Babydoll Southdown sheep....and, and and! Sue is right, though. Vacations here are limited to day trips because finding someone reliable and trustworthy to oversee the care of the animals is difficult...for us anyway!

Alpacas have got to be the easiest, and least expensive animal I have ever raised. They are a hoot. Not as cuddly as they appear...but to win their affection/attention is amazing! I'd love to open a category in 4-H for showing alpacas, as there is nothing in NY state yet.

I live in the hills of no where located within a half hour drive of cobleskill and oneonta. we have a small flock we just started over the spring. I have 4 red sex links, 2 tetra tints, 5 sold to us as amerucanas they could just be ee pullets i have no idea as they resemble amerucanas but i am not an expert, 1 black mixed with what i have no guess shes just a very interesting hen and I adore her, and 1 amerucana possible and ee roo.

Getting a bator and going to try hatching our own in the spring cant wait really excited about what chicks we may get.

Ya, even just the chickens and the dogs tie you down. I was animal deprived as a child, can't get enough now. Luckily I have my DH to keep me under control. He grew up on a horse farm and got most of that animal hoarding stuff out of his system, lol. Especially for horses, doubt we will ever have one of those! They probably need the most care anyway. I like all those mini animals too. But I have a thing for Scottish Highlands, I love the way they look and they are generally friendly.....someday.....to bad all my kids have grown and "flew the coop", then i would have a better excuse for pets! Glad to hear you give alpacas a thumbs up!

Hey Meagan, I see you have Lav As. I got a few Ameraucana chicks from Renee. I have a really cute Lav 10 week cockerel (Lav pips & peeps roo x Lav Old Barn Hollow hen (chicken stalker). Do you know anyone who might want him? I wanted a Lav girl so bad, they are so pretty, waaaaa!

We're going to see harry potter, but then we are putting another automatic door in for one of our coops.

So that counts, I think!

Oh, off topic - if anyone in albany/saratoga county has a recommendation for a roofer, PM me. I am having the worst luck getting someone to show up - two scheduled yesterday, neither showed up.. one big company showed up, but never sent us a proposal, so now I am down to two written proposals- one is in the ballpark, the other is ridiculous. Need more choice!

You'd think they'd want a nice big job like this but I guess no one needs the money.
