Had a friend call today looking for a hen. He'd been here a few weeks ago looking for one but I had none. He had two hens then but lost one and now has a lone girl.

Anyone got one or two? I can connect you up or be a leg in a relay.

I've considered offering him the Marsh Daisys but I've a trio and I can't just keep the roo by himself.

Morning all. Got a call from my house sitter on thursday. Bear got into the big coop through the side window. Had my neighbor board it up. Got home yesterday evening. Dh checked the game cam and it was a different bear, much skinnier. He ripped the hardware cloth down and was in and out in less than 2 minutes. 130 in the am thursday. A head count and feathers says he got two of my pullets. Busy making bear boards now. Just finished one. So beyond angry. I hope these boards do lots of damage to these bears. I know they are effective against grizzlies. The cheeps and my cat are happy I am back. Everyone demanded treats. Start my new job today. Looking forward to it. Have a good day all.

So I don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing...
I HAD to drive up to Ava tonight because my chickens wouldn't eat the Chicken food that wasn't organic. I bought 2 bags back at Chickenstock in May, so it's the only food they know... Now it doesn't appear they want to eat anything else..
