They are pretty. EE? Very cute. I have babies that I don't know what to do with too. I took down the for sale listing. They're 2 weeks old and I'd rather wait a couple weeks to figure out which ones are keepers. I'm changing my coop around. It was a section of my barn 4' x 11'. Now it will be a section 11' x 11'. If I design it right they can all mingle and have space of their own which will get them all through winter if needed. 29 chickens is more than we need but we'll process some before winter and hopefully sell a couple older pullets at that time too. I'm flying by the seat of my pants here. Maybe I should look into trades.

Gramma nice birds seem a lot tamer then EE hatched out here. Canned beets this week 35 quarts water bath and my first time using the pressure caner. No matter how careful you are beet juice gets everywhere even on the dog (who loves blanched beets). My hen has been laying steady still waiting on broody to start laying again, all the critters have double their feed intake with cooler weather wondering getting early Fall?

I have to get a shed built so I can empty the back of the barn and build...........more coops!!

I've managed to keep up reading the thread in the few minutes before work and bed, but not posting.

still planning for 2017, but i don't mind if i get visitors.

I've put up beans, pickles, tomatoes, and jam (strawberry and blueberry). Going to go to the cincinnatus farmers market with my mother in law this morning. Love going and seeing what deals I can find

I love blue EE and black EE, but I still have too many. Maybe next year. ;)

One of my favorites, but probably needs a new home is this EE mix (probably EE x Orpington) known as Mary the First or Mr. Wings.

He's the black one in the foreground and is 4 months old. He's in my avatar from a couple months ago. He crows, but only after 7 am so far. Haha.

Where are you located? I'd love to look at a couple more hens. Question about your handicapped girl, butter. What are you going to do with her? I have a handicapped bird who doesn't walk very well it's a Cochin and I love the bird but at seven weeks how viable is is he going to be? It's a rooster and I can't keep roosters but then I was wondering maybe he won't crow if he can't stand ... but will he get picked on by the girls? I feel so badly for them when they're hurt. Any advice?
