Mine was willing to give me antibiotic for a respiratory infection ...once I knew the dosage ..he never saw the chicken
It might be cool to have a BYC group, all wearing BYC T shirts. Willing to answer questions about the different breeds. You know just walk around and discuss Back Yard chicken keeping.
Great Idea ! Lets talk about it next year ...Im sure they need volunteers

Craigslist with photo and story. The buyer needed to replace a rooster, so the timing worked out
I listed my 12 Roos on Craiglist ...for 5.00 each . I got a offer from a farmer of 2.00 each ..for all
Dont know ...I will probably take it ..if he can give me a hen or pullet in exchange .
I dont really want to keep them all or slaughter them myself ..
Maybe I should try a story ..
Do you have a copy of the story for me to read ?

I spoke with one of the guys there and he said that they use kids to tag the cages. I also think they use volunteers to tend to all the chickens. I wonder if anyone here would consider volunteering.

I would cetainly be willing to put some time in. As long as the exhibitors provide information and perhaps a willingness to help out too..

Just checking in real quick. Trying to skim over all the posts but there are over 100 to catch up on..Not sure what I have been missing....Been very busy working mornings at the fair...10 days done, 2 more to go. My feather babies have been neglected a little bit while I've been at the fair..DD had been a big help. Have been bringing back some goodies from the booth almost everyday. I feel bad. When I get home all I want to do is take a nap..The turkeys are especially not happy that they aren't getting the attention that they want. ...Kids start back to school on Tuesday...The house is a wreck. DH can't seem to help out, but that is a vent for another day. Once things get back to a normal routine I need to get the coops stripped and cleaned and start winter prep. ..

...Where did the summer go...

So gee thanks for the warning yall!!!! Ewwww!!!! Soft shelled eggs look really creepy. One of the girls laid a soft clear shelled egg. I almost freaked out!!!

Oh Yeah, not pleasant................................. especially if you don't realize it has a soft shell & pick it up. YUK !! but I did chuckle to myself when I read your post.

Reminded me of the first time I found a soft shelled egg, when I picked it up it moved................................. OMG ! I jumped, it hit the ground and the girls had a nice snack.

I don't have a copy of the story, but I explained that he was friendly, good to the pullets, with a bit about his parents and his name. Along with a picture which he always enjoyed posing for. He was an only rooster for long enough that I knew him well.
