NY chicken lover!!!!

So I went out to the coop midday today (much later than usual). The hole was dug again and, curiously, an egg was partially buried, which means the critter came out after sunrise. And it left an egg behind!

(To explain, my silkies and bantam sebrights refuse to lay in the nest box, opting instead to lay on the ground under the box. This is also the area where this critter is primarily digging. It digs under the wall that separates my coop into two sides, and it lives under the big bird next boxes, which are much lower to the ground).

I'm going to have my husband fence off that area and set the big trap. Have to make sure the bantams cannot get to the trap, though.

I had a Chipmunk take eggs. I'm not sure if it was Alvin, Simon or Theodore but I got him with the rat trap.

GREEN FIRE SENT ME AN E-MAIL 20% OFF.

THEY DID HAVE A SALE ON CERTIFICATES $75 FOR A $100 CERTIFICATE. That was before Christmas.

I didn't buy any since things are what they are here but someone else might be interested.

I might have a buyer for the three Daisies.

I'm actually really interested in this. Is there a code that you are supposed to use?

Does anyone else have an animal with diabetes? My cat just developed it. I really don't mind giving him insulin (I'd make a pretty bad vet student if giving injections bothered me, lol) but now he also needs to go back to the vet every week to get his blood tested, at least until we get his insolent dosage worked out. At least he doesn't seem to mind me sticking him with a needle.

Pyxis, my parents' dog developed diabetes over the spring. She is now regulated at 33 units of insulin twice daily, which is an insane dose. It took forever to get to the right numbers. When they were first starting her out on the insulin, the vet had them start very low and work sloowwwwllyyy up. They did tons of research and found that most animals need a significantly higher dose than expected.
My mom is a nurse, so she ended up just bringing a syringe of blood into the vet weekly instead of hauling the dog around.
Before being diagnosed she was extremely lethargic, gaining weight rapidly on the same diet as usual, and wasn't able to control her bladder. Even after they had her blood sugar regulated it seemed to take a few months for her to be more like her normal, happy self.
If you have questions I'd be more than happy to ask them for you. When they go away I feed her and give her insulin.
