NY chicken lover!!!!

Funny story...So, one of the people who buy my eggs tried to color them and they wouldn't take the color! I could imagine you could influence the bloom color somehow...

When I ordered chicks last summer from Sand Hill I ordered black and blue Langshan's with the giant's. I don't know if theirs does but original Croad Langshan's laid eggs with purple bloom. They were having trouble getting the Langshan part of my order filled and kept pushing it further into the yr, I told them my main concern was the giant's, only ordered the Langshan cause of the max limit of ten on the white giant's and they have a min 25 to ship. So they sent the giant's and a bunch of red sussex free packing peanuts.

Rancher, if be interested in a maran pullet or two, unless you are close enough for a drive for eggs, I'm in 10524. I need a dark chocolate egg to round out my egg basket. Thanks!
Kate
I sold some pullets today but still have the Marans if you're coming this way. I do have eggs too, but they are very hard to hatch. At least for me. You're quite a ways away. Not real conducive to driving up here.

I could send you some eggs to hatch if YOU pay the postage.

I recently had eggs in and the one chick that did hatch died shortly there after. I don't know why. Broody hens seem to do better at hatching Marans for me.

I expect I'll be selling the incubator.

on a lighter Note :
Heres Proof these cheap little fences from Walmart dont work ..
I put them around some Daffodils that were coming up ..LOL
I surround my Gooseberry and Currants with 3' chicken wire otherwise the pick them bare of leaves. There used to be Bleeding hearts in front of the coop but my first batch of chickens made short work of them. When I had tomatoes i thought well "I'll let them have the ones down low and I'll get the ones up top". Well those buggers were jumping up and eating them all! I didn't know chickens jumped.
