NY chicken lover!!!!

I'm lending my incubator to the elementary school to hatch eggs for their life science lessons. None of my pullets are laying yet. Does anyone have any interesting eggs for hatching close to barryville ny? I think it would be nice if I could get a variety of colored eggs but open to all possibilities.

Hi I am new to the forum but not not to being harassed. ( it ended with SWAT in our neighbors and our yards) Thankfully problem solved. I have a suggestion. What if you used something that would stick to your stalker? Rolled open sticky fly traps in hair are really hard to get off or predictor urine or rotten eggs mixed in something really tacky? If they got it on themselves it would be a lot harder to say " I didn't do it ". My DH is building chicken Fort Knox ! He says no preditor or person is getting to any of his girls!

now that's a great idea!!

@tao chick what breed is in the back of the picture on the left? The speckled one

I think you're referring to the Cream Brabanter. I love them and I'm developing a breeding group that will hopefully reach a standard. There's still some argument about whether to develop an American standard or follow the Dutch standard.

I wish I was closer. I'd give you two or three dozen for the kids.

He's very nice. I like his muffs and beard.

I would add more compost and peat moss to your soil. This will help keep it soft enough to work. You could do as I have done and keep working in more garden soil/peat moss/ compost as money allows. Eventually you'll be able to work it with little effort.  You can also keep working in horse manure too. Some folks will give it away and you can't have to much horse manure.

Which reminds me I need to get some.

You just reminded me that I have bags of peat moss out back. Thanks!
