NY chicken lover!!!!

Never had bad feed from them before. Going to buy it from McDowell & Walker from now on, they're right across the road anyway. TSC is just more convenient, M&W closes at 5, 2 on Sat, closed Sun.
Many fist size chunks of hard mold.

The chicks I got from @Lapeerian
two weeks ago are doing great. They have been in with the hens for a week with no issues- the two groups mostly stay apart, but they are used to each other now. These girls have been growing like mad! Still terrified of me. :(
One thing I just noticed this morning and wondered about is that one of them, in the middle here, has whitish-pink legs, while the other two have yellow legs. They are mixed, I think Wyandotte and EE? Does the leg color have to do with mixed parentage?

Yep. Daddy Wyandotte has yellow legs. Mama is Buff Orp/EE, so has the pinkish legs. That is the unfortunate downfall of broody raised, takes them awhile to become people oriented. Once they learn you are the treat dispenser and reach laying age, attitude improves.

Why would TSC be more convenient if you have someone right across the road? Are M&W more expensive? Did you check the date on your TSC Dumor? It may be a Store issue rather than a Feed issue.

At Runnings I had a mold problem and noticed on one visit a fan blowing on bags of feed. I no longer buy feed there, no matter how cheap it is. Fact is I no longer buy anything there. The service was lousy. I have noticed that we no longer get Ads in the newspaper or mail either. I bet they're going to close soon. No Email Ads either.

TSC and Country Max send me ad emails.

M&W closes earlier than TSC. So if Beer works days he might not be able to get there on time. TSC isn't a store of choice for me either as much as a store of convenience. They are nice but I prefer my local no name on the building 3 employee having feed store. The owner is great and will actually take time for each customer. M&W is a great place that has knowledgeable employees who take time to explain why item a is superior to item b even if it means you save money and they make a lesser sell. Mind you this is all IMO and not proven fact.

However, I just bought a new camera and needed to test it out before our trip to Alaska. Something I should have done before our trip to Israel long ago but that's another story.

These include a "hint" for when danger of frost, or in this case snow is nigh. Notice the Plastic bag over the pot. (recycled bags from the market)The opaque bag will allow light in yet still protect the plants. It can be use even for early planting.

Question: Why do chickens feel the need to peck the paint off the side of the house. They've done the same thing on the coop inside the chicken run. Neither should have the sweet taste of lead paint yet they've still done it. The Daisies were free ranged and had plenty of space to roam.
