NY chicken lover!!!!

M&W closes earlier than TSC. So if Beer works days he might not be able to get there on time. TSC isn't a store of choice for me either as much as a store of convenience. They are nice but I prefer my local no name on the building 3 employee having feed store. The owner is great and will actually take time for each customer. M&W is a great place that has knowledgeable employees who take time to explain why item a is superior to item b even if it means you save money and they make a lesser sell. Mind you this is all IMO and not proven fact.
I like Tractor Supply. They're very friendly with me, but they might just be sucking up, since I spend a lot there. Sometimes just go to look around if I need to get out. I keep saying they need a cafe area, but I doubt the manager would have the gumption to designate an area for such a thing. I have spent time sitting and talking to friends there.

Now back to M&W. If they're a friendly sort and I lived right across the street, I'd ask them to deliver my feed and pay in advance. Of course if I were M or W, and I am the friendly sort, I WOULD suggest to Beer, that they pay in advance and I'd deliver the feed across the road, or down the road or anywhere I was driving by on my way home from the store.

Heck I bought two cattle panels at TSC and Cynthia was nice enough to drop them off here on her way home. I don't have a truck but she did.

Oh and one thing about TSC? They sent me a year end statement of how much I spent and a pie chart breakdown of what I bought. I buy lots of things there even if it's a few cents more than HD.

Was your sweety going to make aprons for chicken stock ?
I may just have to make one myself ...LOL

I don't think so. Chickenstock will happen while we're away in Alaska. While my daughter will be here, she doesn't sew. Maybe when she has kids she'll have the desire to learn. DW made most of the girls clothes when they were younger. Our grandkids are wearing the Smocked dresses she made. Well not the boy grandkids, but the girl grandkids do. The boys wear current Super hero shirts she makes.

I'm still trying to get her to make our grandsons Curious George pj's. He's a size larger now. The way things are going, he'll get them for his high school graduation.

M&W is accross the street from TSC not from me, I live ten miles from them. The TSC just opened there a couple yrs ago. Prices are about the same. I work nights and watch our youngest days, wife works days. I often work double shifts Saturday's. Sunday is our shopping day usually, therefore TSC hours are most convenient.
M&W have their own mill and their store in Sidney is nice, nice workers, most of them have been there for the last 15-20 yrs I've bought feed there. They have a great chainsaw/lawnmower repair shop. They make chainsaw chains for you, I get fast cutting ones, all TSC carries is prepackaged anti-kickback chains, I don't like them.
I shouldn't have switched to TSC feed anyway, I'd prefer to support local business.

Yes, I perfer M&W over TSC for feed, though I do buy other things at TSC. I buy chick starter, turkey starter, etc from M&W, except for layer mash, which I get from Lutz in Oneonta.
During the winter when they didn't stock any chick starter, but I had to buy some, I ordered like 10 bags & it was actually cheaper then than it is now!
I like that if M&W can get ingredients cheaper, they pass that onto their customer vs TSC that even when their feed is "on sale", is usually at least $2 - $4 more.
When I was less than 2 years old, my Dad worked at M&W in Delhi, and that's where I first held baby chicks & ducklings. You know what they say about imprinting at a young age?
It worked! Didn't come from a "farming family", but those baby chicks & ducklings "planted seeds in heart" that later blossomed.
