I hate squirrels. They WILL eat baby birds. They will chew into bird houses. I recommend a metal entrance hole. Had them getting into the run and ruining my plastic feed jugs. Eating the chicken feed too.

However wild birds can carry AI and other diseases so when I got chickens I stopped putting up a feeder. Do more research and you'll see.

shodock, I stopped feeding the birds for a while because of
the squirrels. They are AWFUL. Now I started feeding
again....no squirrels yet. When they arrive..I stop feeding.

That gets rid of them coming. We have all sorts of birds...

I haven't so far. I did read a lot about it recently because I had a chick hatch a few days ago that wouldn't walk on one leg and would fall over. I wrapped her leg in vet wrap and it's been about 36 hours and she's walking great! I think hers was just a sprain.

It's possible that it's a little late but I would try to make some sort of splint like the article suggests.

Yes, but only in chicks. It is really, really hard to fix short of surgery, especially if you don't catch it early and the tendon shrinks up. At that point it's nearly impossible to maneuver the tendon back into place. Both chicks I've had with it passed away Your duckling looks like she's getting around though, so she just might be special needs her whole life.

I agree! I had a blind hen for a little while. You tend to get more attached to the special ones
