NY chicken lover!!!!

Well I've responded to an ad on CL for bunnies. I have a pen in the box that I'd bought for chicks but haven't used. Plus lumber for a hutch. Anyone got a good design and idea where is the best location?

I'm fighting the urge to buy Ducklings or a new incubator. The cold weather helps. Though my EE's are laying and I really want to hatch their eggs. I really need to check for eggs during the day when it's cold like this.

I saw a rabbit in the yard tonight. I'm always happy when I see them.

What is chickenstock ??

It's a get together this thread has every year. There's a thread for in in the Meetups section.

So leaving for the day isn't a big deal? Everything i read says be ready to be home non stop for 4 weeks

Not a big deal. I have a bunch of chicks at home right now taking care of themselves. If that were true then just about nobody would be able to raise chicks :)

@@pyxis where is it usually held ? Or is it in a different place every year ?

It usually moves around each year to make it fair, so that everyone takes turns having to drive farther away and no one is stuck driving a long time while for someone else it's always really close. However this year it's in the same place as last year, which is Harpursville, NY.

@Chicken girl 15 and @rancher hicks, thank you so much for the offers! I have a chick order coming in May, so I am hoping there may be a little boy in there somewhere. And there is always Chickenstock! No verdict on what happened to him though, there was a change in plans so I had to leave my house sooner than I thought and surprise surprise, something took the remains. The ladies all seem fine, so I am going with freak accident :)

@FishMtFarm I am out your way quiet a bit. I am about 2 hours northeast. I haven't been a huge silkie fan (no clue why, honestly), but yours are stunning!
if no roo has grabbed you by May you can pick one of mine. Chickenstock is here at my place.
