Hello everyone . I am from NY . I have 6 chickens and noticed one of my baby is being bullied by my other babies . What should I do? They get out from coop in AM and goes in themself sun down. I feed them hot oats with mashed bananas for breakfast in winters and raw oats and organic grits .Please help me how to deal with my babies not to bully and what should I put on her neck they took off all feathers by pecking her. I have no idea about breeds or anything . They are turning a year old .

Welcome
She is at the bottom of the pecking order . Do they have enough room in the coop ?
Or 2 roosts so she can get away from them when they are penned ? ?
Are they they getting enough Protein ? What are you feeding them ?
Lack of Protein and space causes them to be more peckish.
If you know which one is pecking her or the head of the flock you can separate ehat one for a week .
You could try a knitted collar ? Her feathers will grow back eventually
.

My mom's mom is in the hospital and she anit going to make it
I am sorry to hear that.

Why are they not on a commercial feed? Mixing your own feed is risky if you don't have a balanced feed. Never heard of giving chickens bananas. I'm interested where you got this idea.

Were they raised together? Is she an odd breed, different from the others. ? Some breeds do not do well together. Some breeds do not to well with other breeds.

Make sure there are two feeders and waterers. this way she'll be sure to get some food and water.

I have given away birds that did not fit. Rather than see them bald and tortured.

I give mine bananas all the time, they love them and go nuts for them. So as a treat they're fine :) Definitely shouldn't be fed as part of a main ration though.

Rancher is right, they need to be on a commercial feed, just oatmeal and raw oats and grits won't cut it. Maybe you meant you're only giving those things as a treat though.

Just informing everyone here I have LF Cochins again. It's the same lines and color I was dealing with before, the Lemon Blue project. I plan to eventually add new blood to them and once they begin to lay I'll be offering hatching eggs and started birds at some point. Just thought I'd let everyone here know.
