These little fluffballs are the newest addition to my flock! There are 6 Leghorns and 2 Austrolorps. Just picked them up! I'm going to do weekly pictures of there growth!

Just figured out there names! I'm a huge Star Wars fan so here are some names: Darth Layer, Princess Laya, Sabine Hen, Hen Solo, and Luke Skybalker, and now some not SW names: Snowflake, Woody Woodpecker (because she ALWAYS pecks a spot on the box!), Snow White, and Silver II.

Heres Lucky
He gets tired and completely lays down

He seems fine when he is moving .
though His wings are dropped

.But when he stops or backs up ...
He puts his wings down on the Ground for balance

See the difference this is last year ...Poor Guy he is showing his Age .
I am starting him on a joint supplement MSM to see if that helps ..thats what I take

I am super excited, I ordered my own incubator today!! After exhaustive research, I decided to go for the Brinsea Maxi II advance. I also did the math, and determined that the Brinsea EcoGlow would pay for itself after 4 rounds of chicks, so it made complete financial sense to order one of those too.

I'm really enjoying searching for eggs, I was quite anxious a month ago - but now it's become a fun challenge to find exactly what I want. I'm hatching with 3 classrooms (teachers incubators) and since my kids aren't actually in any of those classrooms I think I'm going to keep a few eggs to hatch myself at home too.
