NY chicken lover!!!!

hey everyone, happy easter!! I'll be busy today working on the coop and planting seeds.

I ordered some shipped eggs and surprisingly the hatch rate was great like 90%. But...the chicks were supposed to be a breed that is black, and then- they came out BLUE. Ugh. Shipped eggs. They are super cute bebes though. I'm just super confused!! I'll contact the seller for more info.

Would anyone be interested in joining me at a few local plant sales that I attend such as garden clubs and parks that sell native plants?

I know it's Easter and to all the "fun suckers" out there I, I know rabbits and eggs have nothing to do with the Crucifixion of Christ nor His resurrection. For me they are two separate things. I also celebrate his resurrection EVERY day. Chocolate rabbits and eggs after Sunday when they're 50% off. Truth be told my daughter was born on Easter Sunday and we dye eggs calling them Birthday eggs in her honor. You see what you want to see and your hear what you want to hear - Rock Man "The Point".
Phl 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
So smile, cry tears of joy, praise God everyday but please let this be a happy day. Don't let the fun suckers of the world ruin it for you.
So I offer this song by Ella Fitzgerald.
I Want To Be Happy by Ella Fitzgerald with Lyrics
I want to be happy But I won't be happy Till I make you happy, too Life's really worth living When we are mirth-giving Why can't I give some to you? When ski...

Well Lucky has been De Throned ..
The Poor guy ..
He has been Good for Our Flock .I wish he still was like this
ODD ...Really Not Funny
He wasnt mean to those young Roos ..
Only chased them and Pecked them once if they were not looking ...
He never tried to take them down just gave them a Reminder who was boss
The 2 Young Roos act like they want to kill him ..attacking his comb and both taking him down at the same time .
I have Separated him to his own Cage ..For his Safety .
I was hoping he would die in his sleep before this happened .

I think a Hen that was given me is dieing ..( a hatchery Comet )
She is Probably 2 - 3 years old ..I am her third owner at least
She didnt roost with the flock last night
Lucky got out of his area ...while I was gone
I Really HATE to Come Home to things that No one Else Noticed ..
( Im like did you hear any Rooster sounds ? )
I found the two of them wedged in the same area where no one could get to them .
She acted Lethargic when I got her out ..I put her in with him .
As she just acted like she wanted to sleep ...anywhere
At first he backed away ..But later I went out and looked at them and he was standing over her ...
Like he was guarding her

Aww, sad when the pecking order changes and even worse when you find a sick one. I just found one of my partridge Silkie hens at the beginning of the month all lathargic and skinny. Brought her in the house and tried to save her but she died. She wasn't even a year old yet. Everyone else is doing fine but a lot of people say you want the weak ones in your flock gone. Still hate losing them tho.

I'm sorry for your flock troubles. I lost a BCM last year and I was mostly upset that I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I wanted to help so badly. I think I would have felt better about the whole thing if I had been able to figure out what was wrong and do something. I hope your hen recovers.
