NY chicken lover!!!!

I like my chickens don't get me wrong, but my priority is fixing my own house during what is probably the last stretch of good weather for the year before the coop gets 2 windows. My DH obviously thinks differently since the coop windows were done first and there is still a hole in my house that is going to need paint, siding, and possibly more mortar mix. The windows didn't necessarily need warm sunny weather to get done in.

Sorry for the rant. Just thought I could vent and some of you would understand.

Now at my house the house roof was hit by a tree during Irene....and today was spent putting siding on the chicken coop. I hope it doesn't rain hard soon, cuz that roof still needs to be fixed.

But get this logic. The siding is white and the shingles are black, so it's cooler to do the siding. HUH? Both jobs are outside in the sun and the roof has (what is left of) a tree shading it.

Sending total sympathic thoughts your way.

Ok, we bought a nearby property as an investment. Tenants are supposed to mow the lawn. Our lawn will look like it needs to be hayed and my DH will be helping the tenants mow their "responsibility" while ours looks like the property is vacant! I figure it is a "y"gene thing!!

Rant away tab!!!!

Well look at it this way. If he's always gotten things done in time it won't matter which he does first. There may be a reason for the order in which he did things. One might be the windows were the easiest to get out of the way. Perhaps he needs to wait for help to do the other.

But like I said if he's always gotten things done in time don't worry.

I hope all goes well ,

I think his reasoning was that he was able to bring his small TV into the coop so he could still watch the Giants game while doing the windows. I do have to give him credit for being able to accomplish something and still watch football. He could've just been a vegetable and then nothing would have gotten done. He will eventually get it done. We just set our priorities differently.

my April 1st hatch is about half and half. 9 or 10 of them I think are laying, the other 8 are behind, only just now getting pink. Plus there's five in that coop that are about a month behind and I have two BO girls that should lay any day now (21 weeks) but still have no combs/wattles so I'll be waiting a while! I do have a light on a timer in my pullet coop, as I am hoping those ladies will lay in the winter. The older chickens that laid last winter are getting no light this year - they get a break.
