NY chicken lover!!!!

Rancher, I know you are NOT fond of Silkies. But we have had them and they are clean, neat and easy to tend to. I do agree they are poor layers and eggs are tiny.

A friend gave us 4 Dr. Whitings. EEK. They poop all over everhthing. They are so MESSY. My husband dislikes cleaning poop
all over daily. We do have 5 dozen LARGE BLUE eggs in refrigerator.

I don't know what Whitings are, but the eggs sound good. I don't mind the Silkies, I just like to tease about them. I'm hesitant to name the rooster but he reminds me of the Abominible snow man. I do wish they were not white. Too easy to spot from the skies. Barred or red would be less so.

Had another hawk today ..Chicken under my office window squawking..I open my window ..Ask :are you okay or should I come out ? She keeps squawking ..Im like okay Im coming out ..Sure enough there was a hawk

Been busy this weekend setting up the new coop area, installed 2 levels of 10 foot long roost and built a roll away nest box based on the “best nest box”. Also built a vertical sliding coop door and is going to be automated.

Rancher, Dr. Whiting developed these chickens for their sof feathers. The Fly Fishing Industry uses the feathers for fishing flys. They are beautiful...but MESSY...fly all over the coop and
POOP on everhthing in site. We need to clean the coop daily.
We cannot deal with it...sorry. They are excellent layers..EXTRA
LARGE BLUE eggs. Aria
