Wow, this thread has really become inactive compared to when I used to be more active on it. If I didn't check for a few days, there'd be several pages I'd missed.

Well, it might just be you're all busy like I usually am. Or I prefer using IG to post photos & updates about the farm. Plus the BYC phone app has some quirks that makes it not as user friendly. As anyone else had issues with the app?

Well, as far as chickens, they're enjoying the warm weather and lots of grass and weeds.

How did chickenstock go, I bet it was a lot of fun. I had shipped eggs hatching but they really weren’t what I expected, had a 25% hatch and don’t appear to be the variety of Silkies I ordered. I should have taken the money and visited Krystal at FishMtFarms, but my Birthday is coming up again so that might still happen, if she still has some chicks left. :fl I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather that finally showed up.

My girls are laying good and I always have chicks so come on out. Where did you order these eggs from?
 
A breeder in Alabama I met on Facebook. I ordered 12 and she sent 18, the extras were from paint pen as a surprise but I think they are all that hatched. I can’t fault her she sent a lot of extras and she packed really well and air cells were small so I know they were fresh. But one thing I do have a problem with is one hatched completely pink skinned. I know paints can have pigment holes that can darken up but this is completely pink and not paint. I know shipped eggs are a gamble and I feel lucky I got anything, but I’m going to stick to buying chicks from people I know and trust. The one standing up, cute chick but I’m trying to stay to breeding to SOP.

Yes that is a lot of pink skin. Maybe it will darken. Glad you did get some babies.
