Gave the girls another pumpkin yesterday. A big one this time. They couldn't finish it all in one setting yesterday, so they were still working on it today. I think the girls in the small coop may be getting a little upset about thier lack of pumpkin. Guess I'll have to find a small speciman to give them.

On a happy note, the Red Star eggs have a deep orange yolk. This was even before the pumpkin. Boy are they yummy.

So we finished the outdoor run yesterday (3000 staples, and 2 trips to the store later LOL) but.... the girls have NOT figured out how to go up the ramp (lots of cleats) and out the window. Tell me they will figure it out!!
SIX eggs today, more than ever! Of course, I have 15 birds LOL I got a GREEN egg from my girls from featherz. (Man, I thought my BR's were big, but these girls make them look little!!)

I follow a bunch of local meteorologists on Facebook. They're all saying that there are seven major weather models used for forecasting, four of which are showing varying degrees of snow for Thursday. All four currently place us Capital District peeps in the middle of the fun and games. Yuck.

Watch - THAT will be the day that the slacker layer wannabes will all pony up at last.

The 3 new girls I just bought took almost a week to figure out the ramp to go up to the nesting boxes and the roosts...

This ramp is right at a 45 degree angle, I'm SURE they could go up it (well they did, partway, for bread). My cohort in crime agrees they just need time, her hubby wants to cut a hole in the wall of the barn!!!!! We told him he had to at least give them til the weekend.
I'm heading out in a bit to go take care of "Big Ugly" since she's in solitary for a few days, hopefully there will be chickens outside
