Welcome!! I'm not far from you!

DH and DS mark our territory frequently, we have lots of trees.

Still looking for a female Red-Golden Pheasant, our little guy is lonely.

Our 2 cats are 10 yrs old and still going well. It'll be a very sad day when they go.

Trick-or-treating. Hmmm.... For those of you who haven't been to our home, our drive is long and dark = no kids. BUT, I have 3 kids of my own and sometime the DS brings his friends over after roaming the neighborhood and I "charge" them entry fee to come in and warm up.

I like chocolate and they get hot chocolate and to sit by the wood stove.

No boy goats at our house. We just do not have the right set-up to deal with them. Our two girls are now just a year old (on 11/1) and they follow us around like puppies. Thanks!

ok well if you know of anyone please let me know thanks Josh. oh and also do you have ducks to sell?

What color eggs does it lay? If you can get it to lay eggs DW says I can have him.

5 eggs in the nest today...good thing I marked the original 4 so I knew which one was laid today and I removed it. She's a silkie, for heaven's sake, see can't sit on a billion eggs.

No goats cuz I can't eat goat or drink goat milk. Now if someone has a mini-cow around I'll take it. Those things are soooo cute and I can drink cow's milk.

Goats don't lay eggs, they produce berries. Not sure how they taste in pie, but definately berries, not eggs.

Morning folks,

Had to get up to watch the queen. Not even light out. I suspect if I didn't turn the light up on the coop the chickens wouldn't even be up. I've got the runs nearly covered with plastic. I had to put a "new" tarp on the back run. Those darn things don't last a year. Next year solid roof for sure. It would be a lot cheaper than tarps.

I'm working on getting some swedish flower hens. Saving money and all that. I've posted the new chicks on CL for what ever I can get. I just don't want to have to deal with chicks right now, but I will if I have to.

Well take care and have nice day,

Rancher

We ended up putting awnings on our run - only goes out about 8 feet on one coop, I think 4 on the other smaller coop, but that's all they get this winter. Better than last winter where I went out there and shoveled little spots so they could go outside. I am HOPING this year I won't have to do that. Also put an awning over the people door so I don't have to shovel that out too!

Oh, and my DH also put up a giant spotlight that we adjusted so one light points to one coop, the other towards the back coop so when I walk out the fields are lit up like daylight even at 5AM so no flashlights when going out there in the AM. YAY!

My chicks are on CL also - have someone coming to get them tomorrow I think. Included mom with them to make sure they go, as at least one chick is definitely a roo - little guy has had a big ol red comb since about week 2!
