I might have leghorn crosses (x EE) but right now my leghorns hate my rooster so probably not. LOL. They still squat for me. Was hoping to try and hatch a few leghorn X's for the NYD hatch but alas, none of the eggs I have checked are fertile.

If you have(or get) a good leghorn layer(s), covered by an EE rooster, that came from a blue egg, is what I actually want!! If you do, I would love to buy some from you!!!!(In late January!!) If you hens and rooster cooperate........(Syntax isn't quite right....sorry . just came home from work, didn't get lunch and had some wine.........) I think you might know what I mean!

Edited to say...I think I'll have some more wine and then do chores in the dark.........

I have 4 leghorn hens in with a silver ameraucana roo and a delaware roo, if you would be interested. We have 3 of their eggs in the NYD hatch that we set this afternoon.

Featherz, Do you know if TJ's in the city has fertilzed eggs?

I *think* Stop and Shop over in MA has fertilized eggs in the natural/organic foods section. I haven't been in one for a while, but I know the S&S in North Adams used to carry them.

s&s? I shope there(not in NA, but easy enough to get do!! Thanks! Do you know whether they are white or brown?

What I would like to end up with is a bird that lays blue eggs, and is prolific! What color eggs do delawares lay? I do not care what the offspring look like..just looking for some good layers of colored eggs! So maybe I am interested!!

If I recall correctly, they were brown. I noticed them one day when buying kefir. If they do still carry them, the other Stop and Shops (always known as Stop and Flop in my household) would probably have them as well.

The LH X Amer should lay a blue egg with a pea comb and muffs. The LH X Del should lay a brown egg with straight comb. You could just sell the straight combs and keep the Pea combs. We might be able to seperate them when It gets closer to when you want them.

Made some nesting boxes that I want to try out. Just a couple of buckets that DW gets from work, we use them to hold feed. Really easy to put together and hopefully the BLRW will use them instead of laying on the floor.
