Oh don't you worry, by the time you stop by I should have a few more. I've got a broody on two eggs and I expect she may hatch both. She's also on two EE's. I meant to say Patty not Penny.

Penny got the 12 plus two CM's. I learned she has no problem eating chickens which is good . If one of the CM's is a roo he will be very big. His dad was really big. If he hadn't gotten named I might have done it myself. I liked Penny by the way she was really nice. On the way home I thought, ya know I haven't really met any not nice chicken people.

Anyhow I gave 6 to a friend who showed them to another friend who has been telling me he needs to gets some Delawares. One thing about this hatch is that all the chicks have really nice yellow legs. While they do lay the usual beige/tan eggs they sometimes lay purple spotted eggs. Even the hatchery girls don't lay beige/tan. One in fact lays pink. They do lay nice sized eggs though. Big eggs are nice but to big and you run the risk of a prolapse. So an even large size is best I think.

Patty I'll pm my phone number. I only have 4 laying hens so I wouldn't expect eggs. I'm surprised I had such a good hatch. 14 from 15 eggs. They had to be from all four hens cuz I usually get 3-4 a day. Funny how when they were confined in the cold weather they laid just as well.

Anyone going to the Bath auction on Sat? Someone told me they were doing a dispersal of some of the birds from Superior Farms?

I have a mental list of what I need, I so need to stick to it! I had to add a dozen duck eggs to the list, since one of my Buffs is now broody, I wonder if I can take the eggs I have in the incubator out and stick them under her? I suppose I could just stick some chicken eggs under her, but where is the fun in that?

I listed some hens on CL like two weeks ago, I sold them right away, and could have sold them 4 more times already! I think my husband almost fell over when I said I got $30 for the two.... Too bad I didn't have more to sell!

I o so wish I could go .

I sold old laying hens and they sold like hotcakes. Turkey poults at 7.00 I cannot keep up . I have paid for my new used sportsman I just bought. Now if I can pay for all the eggs I bought this year.

Hubbys been good and hasn't complained with 2 sportsmans sitting in the dinning room or the extra water tanks filled with chicks in the barn or the small tank in the bathroom. I need another tank this week with new hatches or I need to build a tractor.

Ah, well my *plan* was my spring hatches would pay for a cabinet bator, but as it turns out, I can't hatch a thing... Seriously, I am really really really BAD at it! Kind of a catch 22, I need a better incubator so I can hatch more, but I need to hatch more to pay for a better incubator.

Then the rabbits took a break, so pretty much I have been making enough to pay for feed, LOL
