Hi from Greene county / Ulster county border. We have 4 kids,(1 about to graduate college at 20 years old, youngest 10), 3 mixed banties (2 hens, 1 rooster), 1 white-crested black polish rooster, 2 salmon faverolle hens and a rooster, 6 araunca pullets, 1 dog, 1 cat, 5 guinea pigs, 1 green iguana, and a red iguana.
Duck is fine ,I kicked all but the maran roo out of the pen so he is a happy boy . They are getting along fine. funny thing is he has so many girls he hasn't want to visit with us.
Got the second incubator going and its not full yet ! I have a few bids in . My ducks and ginnys are laying still. Waiting on my turkeys to get over being mad at me .
Getting ready to leave for a 2 day trip to FFA states this weekend , should be fun . I am trying to find an auction by Cobbleskill with no luck. I have another good size turkey hatch before then so I even have extra $$.
I went to the feedstore today, had to get chick starter, well I got that and also came home with 3 ducklings and 3 chicks!
My husband might divorce me when he gets home, but the kids birthdays are next week so its part of thier present
So I got a mallard and 2 khaki campbell ducklings, and a blue andalusion, rhode island red, and a golden campine pullet! And after I got home and got them settled went out to the coop and one of my broodies eggs were hatching! So I got to see it hatch out because momma was out getting a drink. The kids will be so excited when they get home from school, cant wait! What a great day
Yes, I need to join that program you all were talking about before, I think I need help!
Well I'm excited. I'm going to deliver 12 chicks. I was worried I'd have to eat these chicks but a woman who bought some other chicks is buying these. I've posted around the state and considering how much I had to do to get the parents you'd have thought I'd have heard more interest.
Doesn't anyone in NY like Delawares?
Penny don't worry your's are safe.
But you would have thought I'd have heard from more people. They're the best layers I have. Dels and CM"s. They laid the best all winter. Of course I dont' have any GC's or RIR's.
What's the favorite bird in NYS?
Alot has to do with educating the public . When placing ads let them know why they need Delawares . People tend to buy what they are use to seeing . They do not want to see outside the box.
I am kinda glad you sold the other 12 , I would have been tempted to bring more home ! Now if you have a dozen eggs or so when I stop by I would not say no

Good Luck at States!! Even though I'm pretty sure I know how the end of the story goes
. Hey Patty and my other gals just to let you know I may have extra BLRW's (Blue Laced Red Wyandottes) that aren't going to chickenstock. IF anyone is interested they are Foley/Sterling lines and I'm NPIP. Give me the heads up if you're interested...
