NY chicken lover!!!!

Such fun this morning, playing beautician to who else but Stewie. Her leg seems swollen and it was bloody. So I brought her in and bathed her feet and butt while I was at it, BluKote, and then couldn't find the vasoline, so used Badger healing balm...then the blow drier...She sat nicely in my lap and Only had two little mistakes which were easily disposed of in the toilet. Such a good girl.

Now to clean out the coop a bit, it's warm enough.

madsenaccord, so glad to hear you have Silkies. We have buff, black, white and partridge.
Love them. Since we are new...we will stay with the Silkies and try and HATCH.

My husband talked about getting a small incabator. I said....let's try the broody hens. As you may have experienced the Silkies go broody often. We now have one white and one black
sitting on Silkie eggs. Excited to see what happens. Regards, Aria

Annie, We have been to Maine many times. Many different areas. AND our favorite was
Five Islands. Lots to see and do and a beautiful area. Regards, Aria

With my husband Rancher it's a bit lower

I heard the same is true with the PAIN IN THE NECK GENE. To bad I didn't know that when I was younger.

Welcome; I have Ameracanuas and I have to say they faithfully lay light blue eggs just about every day. so I like that breed. Just keep your second batch of babies safe from your other girls for a couple days Let them see them but not get at them.. I used a small baby pool and wrapped some chicken wire around it .I should ask if these are going to be day olds; 'cause they will have to be kept in a brooder.I 'm not allowed roosters in my town so I can't help you. I'm sure your brother will be able to help. This thread has a lot of very helpful folks on it. Good luck

Just found this thread! Instead of typing everything all over again, here is a link to what is going on South East of Buffalo NY (30 minutes out) and about 50 minutes outside of Rochester
