NY chicken lover!!!!

Hey Stonykill Great photos I think i have an open wound somewhere you can rub salt in LOL.... The things I have put in my beetle over the past 11 years is just amazing. I go to the lumber yard all the time for supplies and use my kayak racks to tie wood down on. The guys at the yard have a picture of my bug hanging up with quite the load on top.I can't get a full size truck 'cause I avoid the LIE and use the parkways when I leave this island(which is every chance I get.) I love antiquing (or junk collecting according to my husband) so I travel all over MA, PA, up state NY etc. I think that's one reason he doesn't want me having another truck.. In the mid 80's when we were in Ithaca he sent me to buy a car with my dad who lived in Newburgh at the time. I came back with a hot red Toyota truck . He went nuts. But he was in Vet school at the time and I was working. I guess now this is what they call pay back. I'll keep every one posted as to how it plays out.

Itsy, the word "snaring" scares me. I hope you don't mean a leg trap. They are mad enough being stuck in the Havahart trap, you DON"T want to handle one of those nasties!!
There's a peep, Jimmythechicken, he's in CT, he breeds peafowl, but it is a little early for them, yet.

Any of you New Yorkers have pea-eggs? What are they called? Peacock eggs? Peahen eggs? LOL. A friend of mine is looking for some to hatch out on her farm. It seems like a two legged predator came and took her Peacock.

Thanks for the raccoon tips. I was kind of lumping in the supplies I need. Figure the air gun would take out a rat or a small possum. We've been trapping those, too. I need to look into the gun laws/information here so we can get something a little more serious down the road.

I'd also like to look into snaring a raccoon.....I'll head over to the Predator and Pests section! :)

I am looking for peafowl eggs also!

No, i don't have an extra. Chief is bantam and if anybody wants some eggs from him i'll be selling. Also, does anybody go to the auction in Schylerville. It's near the Washington County fair. Or do any of you go to the tailgate sale at schaticoke fair. it's the last sunday in april or fist sunday in may. if you do, let me know.

I go to the schuylerville auction now and then, but I generally just drop off my poor roosters and leave. I feel bad enough already. :p
