NY chicken lover!!!!

I have Zombie chicks. They are all laying there dead. When I walk out and say "Oh no, dead chicks", they jump up and run around like their tails are on fire.

Artichoke, Kale & Ricotta Pie
serves 4 to 6

Olive oil
4 eggs, beaten
8 ounces ricotta cheese
4 ounces Parmesan, grated
1 cup canned artichokes, chopped
1 bunch kale, roughly chopped
Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a 9-inch cake pan lightly with olive oil. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and cheeses. Roughly chop the veggies and add to the cheese/egg mixture. Stir until combined. Pour contents of bowl into the greased cake pan and cook until custard is set, about 40 to 50 minutes. Cool on a wire wrack for 5 to 10 minutes and serve.

Good morning all and welcome newbies (I'm a displaced upstate NYer from Ithaca so I'm tolerated here). Living on Long Island I need a 22 for the neighbors not the coons. Great photos everyone. My friend that I gave my Black copper marans to last summer has eggs that should start hatching on Fri. I can't wait. She said I can have a hen if she gets an extra. He is a beautiful creature. He is still healing from the fox attack on Monday. I picked up all the feathers he lost and plan to send them to my brother since he ties his own flies. Well out to take care of the girls (and 2 remaining boys) just can't believe I can't even give them away.

One last thing maybe I can get some suggestions . I need a new automobile. My husband wants me to get a SUV type thing. I WANT A TRUCK..... I've had two and now with owning chicks. I think I need another one.Last week when I went to Agway I had to tie the food to the roof racks since I had two bales of straw in the trunk. You should see what my VW beetle's tuunk looks like. Its 11 years old. It looks like a small feed store exploded in it. Most times its either his way or the highway. Sure do miss my dad ; if he was alive we'd go truck shopping. Can you buy a car with American Express? Wish me luck....Carol

I wasn't going to log in but then I read this. Now I've been married for a long time. ( married men live longer, ,,,, it only seems longer..

) But seriously this is for your husband. Dude no matter how long you live you will never do half the work your wife will. Even if she wasn't there you will never do as much as her. Sometimes when my DW is home and doing stuff I'm thinking. I don't know what motivates her to do that. Heck I'd buy paper plates and cups. I can never figure out how she manages to do the dishes and put them all away. I hate drying dishes. I'm retired and she still comes home and makes dinner. Sometimes she lets me make it. I used to eat those boil bag things. I'm not sure they even make them anymore. So dude buy her a truck if she wants it. Unless you have a bunch of kids. If a truck will cost the same as an SUV buy her the truck, just cuz she wants it. Me I'd settle for ...... nah I'd rather have a truck too. Right now I have a minivan. IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT. Me I'm so poor I can't even pay attention.
I think I just realized why married women tend to out live their husbands. It's Gods way of giving them a few years without having to pick up after someone.

and true!

Tut-tut, it looks like rain, Tut-tut, it looks like rain was said by Winnie the poo I think...Who said tata it looks like rain?

Your close but it was Christopher Robin who said it, when Winnie the Pooh covered himself with mud to pretend to be a rain cloud. I'm just a little black rain cloud hovering under the honey tree, I'm just a little black rain cloud pay no attention to little me. Everyone knows that a rain cloud never eats honey no not a nip. ......................

My incubator came today. It said it would hold 4 chicken eggs....yeah, RIIIIGHT....try 3 D'uccle eggs or 2 LF eggs....so I best get 100% hatch rate or I will have a lone chick. I have eggs in it already, it took less than 15 minutes to come "up to temp"....does that tell you how small it is. LOL

I got 5 eggs today....where are the rest of the eggs? I have 10 laying hens down there but only 5 eggs. I do think they are being overbreed and therefore too stressed to lay. One's back is almost bare. She needs to stop squatting and throw those boys off.

Does anyone want this flipping roo? 100% Ameruacana. Black. Medium sized, but LF.

So lets see it.

When is the next auction around here? I have bunnies and roosters to get rid of, lol Isn't there one someplace in March??? Did anyone go to the Canandaigua auction last week, wondering how the prices were.

Of course, if anyone wants something, you're welcome to come get it, I have LH crosses and poorly colored Ameraucana Roosters!

The new ALBC newsletter has an article on Rabbits. I was tempted but then Trylin would just encourage me and we'd both have rabbits and our spouses would kill us for sure. Anyhow it was a good article.
