I definitely need me some of those potty trained chickens!! Although then I'd probably have to set them up a separate septic.![]()
yeah but the only other problem is teaching them to flush.

Rancher , they are visiting ? Show them the picture ...Tell them if a chicken can learn to use the toilet so can they ...Put the picture near the toilet to remind them ..LOL
A question ?
Why male pee to mark your territory ? I have seen female cats mark also . Wont human pee be a deterrent ? I do a perimeter walk around the edge of our property when I let the chickens
out ..To check for predators ...& leave my scent around ..so They know I have been there & may show up at any time .
I have seen or heard foxes since the last time I heard them barking in the middle of the night .
I went out & yelled at them " Get out of here ! You want me to come & get you ..And shined a flash light on them ..I could see their eyes reflecting in the distance .
So they know I am here ...& they are not welcome !
Country Boy- this must be the plainest chicken you have ? all the others are so colorful
As he is a chicken he probably did anoint the toilet ..
That can sometimes be a problem. I'm up on a mountain so everything runs off. I think that is the only problem with Cochins but I like the look so I can get over it.While I do like them County, this yard is more for ducks than chickens. Mine seem to manage but none have feathered feet.
My chicks did the same. It was too crazy outside here. Wind gusts were over 20 mph and the rain was insane. This is the first time I had to leave mine inside all day as well. They were very confused. My chickens will HATE me tomorrow. They have NEVER spent a day inside all day. If it eases up at all I will let them out for a bit, but it doesn't sound like it will. I added extra straw to the coop and built it up where the floor meets the wall to help any drafts. I don't mind letting them out in the snow, but not in heavy winds. Poor things would blow away.
