my local feed store stocks it, I don't know about others. I'm sure a quick google search will find plenty of online sources to purchase it.Apparently, I'm gonna have to get me some Nustock!Stony, is this something available in the Feed Store?![]()

how many hens do you have? and how many roosters? If your roo to hen ratio is out of whack... this could be part of the problem. If they all live together 1 roo for every 6 to 10 hens works well for me. More roo's than that in a single pen with that number of hens results in bareback and dead hens.
I had one breeding pen with 4 hens and 1 rooster. Both White leghorns were bareback for 6 months easily. Thanksgiving week I put their rooster in freezer camp and replaced him with a larger younger rooster. By mid December both of those hens were almost back to normal and now look magnificent. AND are laying better than ever.
But my guess is your rooster to hen ratio is way out of whack
In the short term put some Nustock on their bare backs and let them grow back some feathers.
this is true yes. But I still suspect the OP has too many roosters. I am curious what her roo to hen ratio is.On the contrary, I have found that some roosters prefer certain hens over another. The same is true of hens in that they like one rooster over another. Even a breed not their own. Don't assume just because you have a hen and rooster together that they will mate. They won't.
Right now I have a BR rooster who doesn't roost and a BR hen who doesn't either. She cuddles right up next to him on the floor, while all the other hens are up on the roost. Apparently she has no concern for her reputation.![]()
I have another hen CR, who had herself snuggled between the two meatballs , Mario and Luigi. Blk orp roosters. They're so big the only thing you could see was her head. She's just a down right floozy.
I put a radio in the coop and set it for a Christian station but it doesn't help. Pat Robinson would be so disappointed.![]()

I have the same problem. Seems the only way I get fertile eggs is after a sneak attack by my roo. He is HUGE, so I use the word "sneak" loosely. But since I am not interested in hatching bunches of eggs, it's not a real issue.Ok, how do you get hens to become "floozies"![]()
I have hens that run screaming their heads off when the roo comes towards them. sigh.....![]()
I need to cull I guess.
