NY chicken lover!!!!

Opossoms will attack chickens! They are opportunists. Our first winter with chickens we came home on xmas eve to find one munching on one of our hand raised pullets that didn't like to roost. It didn't leave the barn alive. We had the pitch fork right next to the pen.

Morning all. Its warmer out this morning than it has been so it wasnt bad hauling water this morning to the coops. Demands for scratch were pretty loud this morning so I gave them some. Fiesty brat downstairs is now trying to grab my fingers when I go to open the door on the cage. Might try putting her back tonight with the terrorists and see how that goes. Her butt looks good and she laid yesterdays with no issues. She desparately wants to be back with her flock.

No, there is no alcohol in the drink we created. My second job, after the pharm, is at a chain coffee place licensed to where I work. No alcohol served there! However, my boss and I created a few new drinks to offer to the guests. Not a lot of people know about the secret drink list on the web of different concoctions you can order. We decided to be creative and made our own shamrock frap for march as well as the apple pie a al mode. Needless to say, we didnt need any lunch yesterday after just tasting each one we made until we got it right. I like liquid lunches!!! lol

Off to the pharm. Have a good one!

bother them. Heck yeah, possums eat chickens. Kill the possum before it kills your chickens. Trust me

This reminds me of something that bothers me. Why is it they only sell "Ladies" garden clogs? What men don't garden? Maybe they think men garden in their bare feet!

I got a pair from TSC that I know cost at least $40 or more and I wore them out in two months! I bought a pair at Sears $15 and wore those out in one year. I need something with tire treads on the bottom.

I think I may be addicted. Is there a program for chick addiction?!
Yes. You are already a member of it. This thread. We are all enablers. (Hey, you didn't say what kind of program)

It's called "Morehens Disease" and just about everyone on here has it. Even TOB who hasn't even built her coop yet has gone up from a few to several to maybe 10. LOL

theres a cure for chicks Itch ! Get More Chicks !

Cute little fluffy Puffs ..Who can resist .
OK Gramma Chick, we do not need encouragement for our addiction. You're being like a drug dealer…or in this case a chick dealer.

Morning Everyone,
Had a rough day yesterday...I went out in the morning to check on the peeps and also the rabbits (we have three holland lops) and it seems as though something got into the hutch with our two females and killed one of them. It was my son's rabbit and he is going to be devastated, I still haven't figured out a way to tell him. I'm just glad he didn't get to her before I did. That was the worst site I've ever seen! I still don't totally understand it. Two female buns in one cage, one was attacked the other unharmed. They were both fine and hopping around the day before and these two have been living together fine since we got them as kits earlier last summer. I plan on getting some hardware for the cage today to make sure the top on it can't be lifted up unless it's "unlocked". It's just so heavy as it is, I can't imagine what on earth would have lifted it up and then again to get out of the cage. Anyway, I thought of telling him that she somehow got loose but I don't want to leave him with hopes that maybe we'll find her or maybe she'll come back. He knows that we have predators out here and that one of our hens was recently attacked by a hawk but she turned out to be ok. So maybe I should just be honest with him and tell him that something did in fact get into the cage. I don't know, time to get this day going...I woke up with a headache and can't stand to do anything at this point.
