I am much to busy to stress. Start a garden or do volunteer work if you have no job and you will be too. Oh and I have the Queen today too.

would anyone be looking for silkies? I know someone who is selling a group of them 15-20 silkies and the colors are buff, splash, white, blue, black. I want to get the buffs and some splash but don't need the others. any takers if I get them?

It's soooo nice here today!! Finally some warmer weather and sunshine! Took my daughter to feed the horse across the street today and then came back to let the peeps out for a bit to free range...

Out of 22 chicks I have managed to find a favorite!

This is Oppie, my black orp. I got from Rancher Hicks. My pretty sure he is a roo tho I could be wrong.

It does look like the beginnings of a roo . Does it act like one ?
We had a baby roo from the beginning we could tell he was a roo ..by his attitude ..
We would transport them outside when they were babies..we put them in a small dog cage..the hens you could pick up & put in the cage .
Big Bird wouldnt let you put him in the cage normally ...He would have to go in the cage by himself ..As he grew he did become a roo . He died when he was young protecting the flock from a fox

Funny story:
When we 1st had chickens we were very nervous about letting them out . so we put them in the small dog cage ..without the bottom metal piece ..so they could scratch .
They were so small they fit between the rungs & got right out !

Even baby chicks are instinctively wise as the creator made them ..and will scratch right away in the bottom of the brooder .
We put some dirt in the brooder & they started digging .
So The queen is visiting..Better give her the royal treatment ! is this your Mom in Law ?

Yes he has the attitude to match! There is a Delaware chick that I believe is also a roo cause the 2 of them go at each other all the time! It's quite amusing to watch :) I picked up 6 Black giants at my local TSC today. That was the only breed they had so far.

We ended up putting netting/ screen around so they would stay in..LOL

Even when older they would still get in my new garden cart

Well if it leaves it's socks lying on the floor next to the bed it might be a roo.

No, MIL was called a lot of things but never a Queen. That would be my FIL. Ever since he got caught wearing one of MIL dresses.

(just kidding).

It's my GD. She's the Queen. She has her own entourage'. She's the only kid who has three adults go out in the snow to drive her home. I have to drag her around the yard in her wagon to feed the chickens. God forbid she should get chicken poop on her Patent leather shoes mud boots. Not really she's just afraid of the chickens.
