I have some of the worst broodies in the universe.

My two cobroodies are still parenting one chick, so that's good - but I went and checked on the four broodies I have in one coop and there's a bloody egg, with ants on it, tossed out of the nest. I figure it's dead - so I check. Nope! It's still alive.. barely. Thankfully it was hot today. It's a naked neck too /sob. Maybe she didn't like naked necks? I have little or no hope that it will survive and I don't have an empty incubator, so I tossed it under my best stable broody just to see if it can be warmed up and make it. I think it's hopeless, but I couldn't throw a live baby in the woods so that's the only chance it has. Princess is the one broody I can trust so she gets the egg. after the two squashed chicks last week I think princess is the ONLY one getting chicks this year. grr.
It's my fault, I gave away my best broodies since they love to brood too much, with the exception of Princess. Ah well.
