I've already set tomatoes, but did by flowers and parsely.

Now about that TSC Farmers Market? I purposefully didn't buy Basil thinking I would get it there but it was canceled by the vendors. TSC paid to have these papers printed up about the Market and then the vendors canceled due to the weather?

Ticked me right off! Not at TSC but at the farmers.

That would be like the vendors at TASTE OF SYRACUSE canceling and without further notice.

I did see some DUCK egg there too. Muscovy so I didn't buy them. KK's maybe.

I wanna show you guys these eggs I have my bator cuz they're just amazing me with how difference in development and I'm worried that if I lock down this week on Wednesday or Thursday (Which day would I do it if day 21 was Saturday?) These two that are behind will need much more time. It's almost as if they're 5 days behind...

It's like I set them the 2 on day and 2 more on day 5. I collected until I had 6 and set them all in the bator at the same time.

Me too. There is a farmers market today at TSC on Bridge st. Then I plan to go to the regional or perhaps vice versa. The one at TSC is til 3 pm and I do need feed. I haven't been buying as much at a time. I need a truck, my van needs new shocks. Gramma you need to deal with that fox. If there is a man in the house send him out back with a six pack of root beer or Carafe' of coffee and tell him he can't come in til he's drank it all and marked the whole yard.

Thanks she seems to be doing okay eating so for now she will have special accommodations. I'm on craigslist trying to find a super small coop or very large dog crate to keep her, the landing to my attic is not a good place, and unis rain has delayed my shed build. I hope your can will get shocks soon I love my truck I will never go back to a car lol!

Thanks everyone for the support . I can kick myself for not doing my usual perimeter walk yesterday . Heres what on my agenda for today .. 1) Weed Wacking in the woods where the fox was hiding out 2 Burning the wood pile where the fox was hiding out 3) Do my usual perimeter walk today . 4) Bring a Radio to leave outside ... 5) work on the baby chicken fenced run 6) work on my ebay Listings ..pics etc NOTE: does anyone need empty egg cartons ? a friend gave us 80 or so ...I probably already have 50 .. If someone wants them ..I would be willing to meet them somewhere locally ( Syracuse ) or ship them to them in the mail ..provided they pay the shipping cost . It should be $6.00 -8.00? for everyone in NY I can let you know how much it would be if you are interested ..PM me

I have a ton of cartons I don't need either. I just keep saving them I don't want them to go to waste.

speaking of tomatoes : LOL 4 years ago we planted cherry tomatoes ...every time they touched the ground they grew another plant ..they took over the garden & our lawn . They are still coming up in our garden . Last year they were the morning treat before I let them out .. This year I am pulling them out & transplanting them in the woods for the chickens ..They have their own garden ...it will be interesting to see if ant mature heres a pic of the fox impact in our yard

Would anyone be interested in raspberry plants? Mine have spread into areas that we don't want them and DH wants me to yank them. If someone wants them they can have them.

Honestly I would love them but I have a feeling we live far apart.

Just went back to this page and according to these pictures I have two eggs that are right where they should be in development at Day 14, which is what today is. And the other two look like ones that are at day 11. Just wondering what I should do with those eggs if they do keep developing but at day 18 are looking more like day 15. Should I stick them under Stella seeing as how hers are due to hatch the following week?

Lynzi, I would lockdown on Wedensday afternoon/evening. That gives you about 72 hours. Also it's ok about the chicks looking like different days from what i read, it could be that they are sitting differently. As for those last two photos you posted, do you see fetal movement at all when you candle? Also do you rotate the eggs position in the bator? maybe they aren't getting enough heat?

I do see movement in the two that are developing on schedule. The two that are behind, I don't see much movement but I do notice more development each day. I wasn't rotating them because there were just 4 and they've been right in the middle in the incubator so I didn't even think of that. So I did that yesterday.

Are they the farthest from the heat source? It sounds like it.


Also, I picked up the cute chick from Rancher today! Hopefully I can get a full nights sleep tonight. Last nights screaming kept waking me up.

All four right in the middle under the heat source. they're in a Little Giant incubator. I'll just have to see what happens by Wednesday. I'll take more pics that day of the slower developing eggs and you guys can let me know if I should I place them under Stella or leave them in the bator.

Breella Glad you got a chick for the silkie so it would have a friend. Have any updated pics??
