NY chicken lover!!!!

that is one cool teardrop!
I couldn't help but think of you and your piece you are working on when I saw this - especially with all the talk that's been going on about camping and such.

Tab- how is your place with the flooding? See that Rome area got hit with Tuesdays storm. Cortland county got hit with the storm on Monday, lots of flash flooding. Water came up high and fast, have damage but nothing like Oneida and Herkimer. And now the Whitney Point dam is closed, backing the Otselic River up. My parents corn and soybean fields are going under, same as July 3, 2006.
Our place is intact but some of the neighboring areas aren't. We had a flooded yard, a few inches in the basement, and a river running through the barn. Once it quit raining that went away, but everything is damp and squishy. We haven't gotten hay yet because of this weather and the farmer who uses our back acres wants to pile his manure behind our barn because he can't get on his fields to spread it. That was our unannounced visitor last night.

Apple.

Chickens shared some kind of little creature this morning, probably a toad.  Ewww... about 20 of them shared it.  It was mass chaos.  lol

I'm working on an essential oil spray to help minimize bugs in the coop.  Hoping to find something to help with flies (naturally).  So far I've mixed peppermint, tea tree, cassia, clove leaf, rosemary and 1 or 2 others.  If nothing else, it smells really good in the coop!  I sprayed it in the nest boxes and the girls don't seem to care.  They get right in to lay after spraying.

Hoping my young girls get laying SOON!  Feed is costing me a small fortune!  I switched back to TSC layer crumble.  I was using Purina Flock Raiser for a bit, but it was too powdery, and the girls didn't seem to lay as well on it.

Off to get ready for my next craft show in Geneseo.  Three Brothers Winery went super well last week, so I'm pumped about business again.  Crankin' out the goat milk cream!

FINALLY, THE SUN!!!  YAY!!!!!!!!  :weee

How much is that? What is the weight? I get a 50# bag of Agway Layer Crumbles for 13.99 at Country Max.

I try so hard to get to bed earlier and it never seems to happen. What's worse is that people don't realize that others work different hours and that its not ok to just pop over instead of call just before 8pm. My hound dog howled/barked for 10 minutes setting off all 3 of the indoor dogs last night. I'm so tired. Hope everyone has a better rest of the night and day than I will.

Make sure you drink lots of gator ade in this heat. Spent the morning with DD at hospital. She's ok but got two bags of fluids. Had a test or two, but she's fine.

Now funny stories. Granddaughter keeps poking moms belly button and saying "but I can't see him". and takes her doll bottle and jams it same belly button.

I'm sick of this rain.

Saw a bunny last evening that was clearly sick. Hopped slow to get away and bumped into the raised bed side before going through to neighbors yard. I hope it stays away, but suspect it didn't or hasn't long to live. Now idea what could be wrong. Perhaps to many skeeter bites.

Glad to hear she's ok. I have to go for a sugar test this week. And I was prescribed compression stockings last week because my legs have bad veining started and ache. They swell a little bit at the end of the day when I've been on my feet all day. I can really tell when I over do it.
Your granddaughter sounds like my girls. They poke my belly button and say "mommy your belly button looks weird". It's closer to an outy right now.

I will have to check out our Country Maxx. It's a couple more miles down the road, but layer feed at TSC is $15 and change. The Purina Flock Raiser was $18 and change (both for 50# bags)! And I have 25 or 27 pullets that I'm feeding but aren't laying yet. A 50# bag lasts me 4 days, give or take.
