NY chicken lover!!!!

Why is it that the ducks always have to give me hard time getting into their coop before a big storm!?!?! Ugh! They're still out there!

Mine LOVE the rain but I put them in at night. Runners are much easier to herd than khakis are though.
It's pretty eerie, there's no power, no clouds, barely any wind and the moon is out. Seems like most of the Syracuse area is dark. I'm glad it cooled off though.

Stopped at TSC tonight to pick up a gift card and decided to check out the dewormer stuff. They have Eprinex and the Duravet off-brand Ivermectrin. I also noticed that there is a SafeGuard (fenabenzadole) pellet for multi-species, including turkeys. Is this something that could be used for chickens also?
Too bad the chickens can't just use the horse Ivermectrin, I always have leftovers in the tube after finishing the horses.

Good question. I've only used wazine and ivermectin pour on. It would be nice to have another option though.

Severe thunderstorms here in Buffalo but its not raining at my house yet. Figures I took the end plastic window well covers off 2 days ago :/

If anyone interested in a natural prevention for worms cayenne pepper flakes and garlic are good. Also seeds from gourd veggies like pumpkins & squash. I use them about once a month as a preventive and no one has had worms. And the eggs are safe to eat as well

I have realized today that Agway feeds have no animal protien in them...

I was buying because of the cheaper price but I think that I need a higher protien food for the flock. Any suggestions? I am also open to buying from local mills, not just stores.

Agway has TWO feeds. Egg layer and Egg producer. The Egg Producer has the higher protein and price. The Egg Layer is 16%.

Have I mentioned the article in Back Yard Poultry about Garlic and it's beneficial affect? I didn't buy the issue but may.
