I am missing 6 birds. When I went out to put them to bed, all the adults were in place, but only 3 teens and 3 babies. Looked all over for them, but couldn't find them or any sign. Nothing this morning. They had seemed fine earlie in the day. Maybe they will still turn up, but I wonder. the girls seem subdued.
Lynzi, I have Eprinex you could use. It is a big bottle and there is plenty. Your silkies would take even less per bird than the dose I have written on the bottle.
Pm me if you want to swing by.
Went out today and got my cattle panels for my hoop coop and the wood for the frame. And wouldn't you know as soon as I get home it started pouring. Not even the ducks were out in the rain it was coming down so hard. They ran and hid in their house while I unloaded cattle panels and got soaked. Oh well, at least I have them now, and I have the whole week off, so I should be able to get a good chunk of it, if not all of it, done. Woo, no more overcrowded overheated birds! I have so much space I'm thinking of adding a couple guineas.
Speaking of guineas, can they transmit diseases to chickens? The people I'm getting the 7 week old keets from also have chickens so I'm just wondering if I should take extra precautions.
Got my first Silkie egg today after the last hatch. Was so excited and then realized I can't even do anything with it as far as hatching goes because my roo hasn't been in with them in over a month! I'll have to get my hands on him and put him in the coop with them again. Really hoping I can get a good collection from them to do one more hatch this summer.

Yay! They aren't as lazy as you thought

grapes grow on grape vines and are currently green in this part of the country. They will turn purple by September and are sweetest after the first light frost.I've been doing up some jams. Now can anyone tell me about wild grapes. How to tell if what I have are grapes and not moonseed or some other poisonous plant?
I've been around the internet and no one gets right to the nitty gritty and says "Okay this is what wild grapes look like". "This is how to tell wild grapes".
For heavens' sake why can't the just come right out and say what's what!!

Well lets just hope she stays laying this time and her laying influences the other one to lay! Lol
I just got the roo back in there with them, he doesn't seem to happy about it but owell.

I guess you're not the only dork here !!I have one of those bright headlamps I use every night to count the chickens. Every night on the way to the coop I say to myself, "I'm a dork, I'm a dork, I'm a dork...".
But it comes in SO handy. Don't know how I lived w/o it.
