NY chicken lover!!!!

Also, we had our first deer sighting in our yard today since living here. We see them all the time going up the mountain, thru the woods, crossing the roads around here, but never has one ever come into our yard. Today my dog started (who can't even see out the window part of the storm door he's so short) started barking as if someone were here. So I look out the door, no ones here. He continued to bark, looked out again into the yard this time and there this deer stood, just hanging out....

Chickens are good! I have to build another roost bar since no one will roost on the bottom perches lol!
I have a similar problem, except none of the chickens will sleep in the entire second room of the coop. All 53 of them will cram themselves into a 12 x 14 room and fight for favorite spots. Three large roosts are unoccupied in the other room (could easily fit 30 chickens). I'm going to add a second larger window and build a roost at the same level which would be higher than the roosts now.
Weird chickens.

Came home last night and was soooo tired but had to take care of animals. I gave the hens and Broody J(rooster) some fresh blueberries, cleaned their pen picked up the yard. Then it happened....Broody got out! You should have seen us. Running around like fools. After 3 hours, scratches from the blackberry bushes and being a bug food he walked into his pen. I wish I had it on video.

Tab didn't you have a doctor appt. today what did they say?

Rancher just let me know what you want for the Lavendar Amer Roo and when you want to get rid of him I am definitely interested in him.

ChickPrincess am glad you caught the egg eater but if she is laying thin shelled eggs is she eating them just because she is lacking calcium?

Stony love the grill and the meal is looking real good too YUMMM!

Hen I agree I love turkeys

Lynzi I always have deer all over my yard they were up the other day looking at the ducks. They are so amazing to watch.

I got a surprise today (Rancher Look Away) I have one pair of lavendar Silkies and today I go to reach in to give them food and water and there was an egg in their pen and they are the only ones in that pen so my girl is now laying YAY!!!!!.

Got to call it an early night Hubby is having Surgery in the AM and has to be at the Hospital at 5:30 am so need to get up at 3:30 YUCK!!!

Sadly, I lost my Holland poult to a bad prolapse a few weeks ago. The other thirteen turkeys are great, though. I have three jakes - two Bronzes and a Pencilled Palm - and ten jennies. Brahmapapa, I can set you up with a Bronze trio or quad if you'd like - they're ready to roll. I love them. Turkeys are awesome - everybody should have some.

Will any of these birds be processed? I would consider buying one that is processed or ready to be processed. MMM Thanksgiving dinner!!

Morning Everyone,
working 8-2 today so I can go pick up my extra duck tonight. I can't remember how old these ones are but they told me they have no idea who is a duck and who is a drake. I know they were older than 5wks. I'm really hoping I can pick a duck out. Some of them have to be quacking by now right?? LOL Mine are 13wks old so if these are at least 7wks I should have no problem.

Thanks! I was in Montana hiking in Glacier National park.Saw a moose up close and personal(scared the liquids right out of me)!! Grizzlies, mountain goats, sheep and one of the few remaining glaciers. I am very glad I went.
A relative of mine was just there! She was posting pics on FB everyday, I want to go there now. Her pictures were beautiful!
