I have been going to the State Fair for as long as I can remeber. Because my family cooks breakfast, they camp out there. I have gone every year for 25+ years. With even living in Maryland for summer I still made it for at least a weekend. There has only been 1 year that I haven't gone and that was 3yrs ago. My son was born during the fair (25th) and my husband wouldn't let me go with a new born. I love it and make sure that I stop and see the vendors that I grew up with.

I'll be there on the 25th till about 11 when we stop breakfast, then I have to head home. My husband leaves to go out on the road for the week on Sundays and I need to be home before he leaves. That and it is my son's birthday. If you want to say hello, I'll be next to the poultry building.

will you be there other days beside 25th ?

Gramma I can go on the 24th if that is what will work for everyone.

Only working two days this week yayy 2day n 2mro! We going to the state fair, sea breeze, buy 2 chickens, and enjoy my time with my son.

Looks like I won't make it to the fair. This weekend we will be camping near Albion for 5 days & while that gets us closer to the fair I take my dogs camping and I won't lock them up in my pop up camper all day & I can't bring them to the fair. And the last weekend I am working all weekend. :/ well there is always next year

I definitely won't be heading there this weekend. I just switched my weekend to visit family in CT from next weekend to this coming. DH works weekends anyway so when we go it'll more than likely be during the week sometime.

keep him on your side of the state PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see we share the same thoughts on the subject!
But really, I just want an Obama phone.

Looks like we aren't going to the fair until next week now, probably Saturday.

An Obama phone for everyone would be nice. My VZW bill is pretty steep. :-D

Well the "sick" silkie she seems okay is eating drinking I mean she laid an egg yesterday is moving round now just fine though she is sitting a lot, but then I can tell she has been eating and scratching the ground in her private area so whateva Imma give her some more vitamins another round of tuna and some oregano oil and leave it at that.

To be honest I might be done with these delicate breeds I mean I won't give the ones I have away but I don't think I will be getting anymore Ornamental chickens. When I feel that for sure nothing is wrong with her I'm going to just put her and my other silkie and the brabanter in their own tractor. I think I'm going to stick with more Heritage breeds I would like to find one or two hens that are known for being broody but that's next year.

Well off to do homework, I hope everyone's day has been good thus far, take care and have a great evening.

Not that I have any extra Roos, but if the day came and I did have to get rid of some, I'm sure my husband would love to have one for dinner. I could never cull myself though. Like you said it's the gutting that would kill me-there's no way I'd be able to do it without vomiting. I have a weak stomach. Verrrrry weak!

Like with culling sick birds, not that I've done alot, I just put myself on automatic Spock pilot and disassociate my self mentally. I try not to think about what I'm doing, so I'm sure once I did a few I'd be okay. I might have to wear a mask to get past the smell.
