looks like a wild American apple. I have a dozen at least of them. Some tree's produce excellent eating apples, some are just for baking or cider. You won't know until you taste one which it is.

I'm thinking baking or cider for these...they were quite tart and hard too. If I can bring myself so start baking again I would use them in a pie or something. I'm sure once my son starts school this week I'll find the time to start hunting for recipes online.looks like a wild American apple. I have a dozen at least of them. Well I am back from the north country having spent it with my mother on the one year passing of my father. We honored him by going to a Charlie Pride concert in Watertown. My dad would have loved it. Charlie is still a great singer and entertainer. We had good seats so we could see him really well. Have to share this video with you. Thought of rancher and stony right away!
I never laughed so hard as when I saw this on the Marty Stewart show. My mother like the old school country shows. I listen to everything and have no tv so thats what we watched. Hoping I dont see any ghost chickens!
My cheeps are happy I am home. Chicken daddy was on duty while I was gone but its not the same as chicken momma. As soon as I pulled in all the boys started crowing and the girls were raising a ruckus. Had to go say hi to everyone before I could unpack and bring everything in. Now the cat is demanding full attention. Sigh...its nice to be missed. Enjoy the video everyone!
Hi. I live in Kings Park. We have Leghorn, Brahma and Silkies.
Thanks for the info. I will take a bite out of one and see how much of a sour-puss face I make from the tartness...! After doing a little reading, I hear the tarter the crab apples, the less you'll have to use pectin to make the jelly gel up.
Great -- thanks for the warning!![]()

Well they look usable to me. I'd be glad to have some. Get that weed whacker out and take the stuff down. Bet they'd make great jelly.
well they better be usable as I use the same apples every yearWell they look usable to me.
