NY chicken lover!!!!

Breella,

Things keep getting worse with your Duane dilemma. Sorry. I can't help but wonder if the cop isn't related or especially friendly with one of your neighbors. Not necessarily living in the neighborhood himself, but having some kind of vested interest. He does seem doggedly persistent. I wish you a favorable outcome. Just keep doing what you're doing and try not to lose your cool in court. Come across as having educated yourself and being sane and practical, which is how you have handled yourself so far! You can do it!

Congrat's on the fun photo being selected. Your hens are very pretty.

Anybody want lamps or coatracks. I have some my uncle and I made for sale.

We still have to put base on coat rack. They are very nice and hold up great. I have pics of our finished ones for ourselves.

Sounds like a vendetta is a-brewing!! Time to rally friends & neighbors who live close-by to either sign a petition for you or accompany you to the court. Have copies of your local ordinances in hand when you go to court, make a list of everything you have done to mitigate Duanes' 'nuisance' - including your neighborhood letter because when/if you get to court, you will forget things, it's stressful. I know you have been going crazy monitoring his night-time 'noise', but can you also get some idea of how much he crows in the daytime? 1 hour, 4 hours, 1/2 day? I know you don't have anything better to do with your time

!!! Also, as marquisella noted, complaints are a matte of public record, make it your business to 'know your enemy' - and try charming them, failing that, GET PIGS

I'm seeing a few different listings for this on Premier, whats the difference between them all? Like for example, this one caught my eye..

http://www.premier1supplies.com/detail.php?prod_id=24022&cat_id=139

I figured I start with the 82' double spike one for $103...Whats the difference between that one and this other one I'm seeing that is much more expensive for 100'

http://www.premier1supplies.com/detail.php?prod_id=20197&cat_id=139

I noticed the numbers change from "12/48/3" to "12/42/3" What do these numbers mean?

Ok nevermind, I think I got the number thing figured out. So those who have these, would I be ok with the one I want to get - 82' for $103? it's 42" high...that should be good enough to hold my cheeps in right?

I agree get the ones marked for poultry since they have smaller holes. Tho your silkies might still fit thru. I also got the double spike ones so they don't sag. And I got green so it blends with the grass. You can't even see it from my driveway and def not from the road. The only thing that says a fence is there are the yellow warning signs. I went a little overboard with signs but I didn't want any neighbors to accidentally touch it.

And I got the poultry plus so the the posts are closer together to prevent sagging as well. I love it

Here's mine. It's a funky angle I was trying to put it around my new plants. But it's nice cuz you can put it any way you need to get around stuff. The yellow posts are not the electric netting

height of netting (48in vs 42in) and hole spacing I believe.

Awaiting a call from my mother in law, a different officer that I left a voicemail for was just at the house and checked out my setup. Initial message from MIL sounded positive.

I would grab a notebook and write everything down with dates and times and who came and what they said. Who you spoke with, etc. that way you have it with you in court and don't forget anything

I was going to mention the same thing. Especially have documented the dates when Officer Unfriendly came to visit. My DH was a Deputy Sheriff many moons ago and he said that just because this man is an officer of the law doesn't mean that it's not beneath him to harass people too. Policemen can be bully's too. If you do go to court don't go overboard. Just give ,em the facts, mam. Document, document, document. If asked then you'll have it.

Edited to say that this wasn't the post, necessarily that I was quoting, other than the last sentence.

I need to say, Armorfirelady, that you have some mighty fine looking chickens, there! lol

Today's pic of Lucy (EE/BCM) mix and Stella on the right. Stella is younger .........19 weeks I think? I didn't look it up. Lucy has to be closer to 24? I don't know, but Stella is as big as my 18 mth old PRs......still not laying tho. But I figure she won't start till October at the earliest. Probably November tho.

She is a big fluffy girl :)

I love the camera I can only do solar power and that gets expensive so I'm going to find a solar panel first and then start hooking things up to it! Have you captured any funny moments.

A different Town cop came at my request today. She says I am doing nothing wrong, as I knew, but it is good to have another cop on record tell us this (she does animal related stuff mostly so she holds more clout IMO than the other cop)

Had a chick die tonight. :-/ I need to reinforce the bottom of the run and soon so these little buggers can't get out.

What brand of camera did you go with? I used to have Foscam for my horse but that was expensive.
