A different Town cop came at my request today. She says I am doing nothing wrong, as I knew, but it is good to have another cop on record tell us this (she does animal related stuff mostly so she holds more clout IMO than the other cop)

Had a chick die tonight. :-/ I need to reinforce the bottom of the run and soon so these little buggers can't get out.

My guess is you won't have to go to court, but don't worry. Just keep records of who came and when, badge numbers if not names.

I have decided my one hen with the broken knee must be in pain . She lays down a lot & sleeps ..
She keeps up with the bunch ...then while they are foraging she is laying down ...sometimes sleeping
I have decided we will cull her when we cull the baby roos ...odd isnt it ..they are always attacking her ..
I think she is more mature & of course she is slower & cant get away as easy as the others do .
I was holding her . she had her eyes closed as I was soothing her... rescued her from the attacking roos
She opened them & spotted a hawk heading towards us ...she made a errr sound ...the other babies scattered in all directions ..
Me ...I chased the hawk & yelled at it with her still in my arms
I have separated the roos for the night ..so the girls can have some peace

I finished my run so they will be safe from the cats. Right in front of me these cats are stalking my chickens GRRRRRRR this have a heart trap is ready. And sorry Mr. or Mrs. hawk no chicken dinner for you!

Off to work, my new manager is someone I trained this should be good! Well I'm still a far better groomer, I say this because of other very experienced people in the business recommend me and send me praise.

Why is a police officer coming every day? That's odd. Good that you now have one that tells you it is ok. So, why did the other cop pester you about it? It definitely sounds like harassment on his part.

So last night a friend was leaving our house. Before I could get inside he was back. He tells me one our our barnie roo's is walking down the road. We walk down to where he saw it, about 200' away from my big run. We get to it and it looked like a barnie from a distance but up close it looked like an RIR cross of some sort with a very swollen eye. Not wanting this thing anywhere near my birds, I snapped it's neck on the spot and disposed of it. I certainly didn't want that problem hanging around.

I love the camera I can only do solar power and that gets expensive so I'm going to find a solar panel first and then start hooking things up to it! Have you captured any funny moments

In the paper there are coupons for Harbor Freight. They have 45watt Solar panel kits for $139.33. Not sure if that is something that you would be able to use. They also have coupons for LED security Lights. A 36 LED solar security light of $17.99 and a 60 LED solar powered security light for $27.99.


My thermostat this morning was reading 35. I have it on the porch so I'm guessing that in the open it was colder. Frost was everywhere and there was a thin layer of ice on the duck pool. Can we all say Brrrrrrr!! Where did the summer go.

It goes by to fast. Chickens are doing well. They are enjoying their free time in the yard. We got rid of my truck that was next to their run and they are loving the area where it was. The boys (ducks) are doing great. I haven't let them out of the run yet. I think that I will keep them in for a few more weeks at least to make sure that they know where they need to come back too, or maybe I'll wait till spring. I'm scared that if I let them out of the run that they won't come back and that would just break my heart. Last night was the first night that they went into the duck hut without much encouragement. I have a pretty big run so they have plenty of room.

Luvmychickens = thanks for the info I always have some solar lights, I think though I will be needing a solar panel much cheaper than getting and electrician out there.

Ke5 = I hear yeah a lady found a puppy that clearly had skin problem and saw me walking my 3 dogs and ask if I would take it and I'm like no way don't need mange into house. Glad you were able to properly dispose of it.
