Gramma, I get eggs that color from my EE's, but it sure does look small... what size is it in relation to say... a AA battery or a coin...?

If this is a EE egg it would be my 1st one ..ever ...but I am questioning it ..as it was found in my yard ....yesterday
Football found today ...LOL

Nanci Griffith sings a pretty song called "Light Beyond these Woods (Mary Margaret). I've always liked that name. It's so pretty (Irish?).

I ended up with my (married) last name beginning with an "M" as well...! So my initials are MMM (Mmm-Mmm good?) !!

Go letter M!

TOB

My daughter is MMM too...Madelyn Marie. We liked traditional older names, not to common. We thought about Kathren Elizabeth, and Charlotte Jane.

My son is RMM Robert Michael. At first we couldn't agree I wanted William Robert, the huddy wanted Robert William (our dads that are both gone), but after we lost his younger brother we decided on Robert Michael for his dad and brother.

I came home to a dead roo yesterday. Seems I should have let them out before I left for work. I suspect the alpha roo did him in. All I thought, when I saw him laying there dead on the ground was, "Darn, one less meal". LOL

Sorry to hear of everyone's troubles. I hope Autumn brings better luck for everyone.

Morning All,
Think I'm going to do one more deep clean on the coops this afternoon before starting the "deep litter" method thru winter. Need to hit the feed store for some shavings and feed. Thinking about going back to Grower mash since the girls still aren't laying that well. I can see if they layed all summer and are now slowing down but they didn't. I'm down to 1 egg every other day. My lavender silkie still isn't laying either and the frizzles won't be 20 wks until the first week or so in October.

All the baby bunnies will be going to their new homes next weekend. Well not ALL, I'm keeping one. (I really hate CL! I must have gotten over 20 emails from people asking "how much?" and never hearing back after that!) Hopefully I'll be able to move the two chicks into the silkie coop soon. Just need to be a tad bit bigger and I think they'll be fine in there. Especially since everyone minds their own business in there with the ranges in sizes. My lavender roo is the biggest and it spirals down from him to the frizzles, the silkie hens and then chicks.

Hopefully I'll start getting some eggs soon so by early next year I can attempt another hatch.

doing the same thing here Lynzi, have hauled 6 piled high wheelbarrow loads out already, 2 more have been dug up and piled for removal today... got a count on the tarps and ties... can't believe that we could have snow in just a few weeks, time always flies. love the great dirt the gang makes all year, the top layer was a bit dense, but the stuff I'm pulling out from underneath... dang... my garden is going to be insane next year!
