NY chicken lover!!!!

I went over to my friends house this morning while she is in a conference all day. She called this morning all frantic because her kids left the two coop doors open last night for the chickens she just got a couple of weeks ago. She found her three "brown hens" ( they look like RIRs to me and maybe one mix) walking around this morning but couldn't find her lavender Orp. I told her if there are no feathers on the ground anywhere and the others are safe then she's probably just hiding in the woods. Well I went over there, the three RIRs came running over to us, they're going thru a terrible molt! Went over to the brush on the side of her property and there were the two others she has with the lavender hen. We coaxed them out of the woods and back into their coops. Here they are:

Can someone tell me what the one in the middle is? I love the coloring on this one. Anywho, all are safe and sound. The only problem is, I don't see her ever being able to get the 6 together in the same coop. I tried putting them all in the larger A-frame coop and those three RIRs went after them like they were bait! I hurried to get them out and placed them back in their own coop. Those things were mean!

I would guess with the comb and leg color its an EE

The cuteness meter blew it's top today between County Boy's ridiculously adorable birds and TAB's precious baby pic of Nora in her sweet little outfit!

Everyone have a terrific long weekend. Supposed to be glorious weather!

Rancher - call your doctor. A wait and see approach is not smart when you are experiencing possible cardiac symptoms.

Take care everyone.

Sunny that's her she is light colored with dark feathers around her head and very fluffy/heavy looking but isn't as heavy as she looks. My white chickens are actually heavier but don't look it. She got her leg feathers plucked off when she tried to introduce herself to the flock by jumping the barrier I put up. My 6 six production hens can get nasty thanks goodness I have my roo he has been settling in and making a huge difference. Personaily wise she isn't the nicest hen at all in the flock probably one of the more nastier one's she has an attitude. She's not one to be handled much and makes it hard to treat wounds which happened when she got it from my production girls. But she makes a great utility bird and will make great utility offspring, she doesn't get picked on now and is very strong willed.

Wow she is a lot lighter in color. They look so much different without the beard, but at least you know she can see well! I wonder how much that beard obstructs their field of vision sometimes. Ollies is so full! I don't know what the heck she does but I'll come home and her whole head and bread will be soaking wet! I've never had that issue with my EE's.

So Cute!!! I have baby fever right now, you're not helping...lol I'll have to suppress it with some chicks!

At first I thought they were relaxing on a bean bag chair. lol

My advice would be to follow your heart. My son always wanted to be a conservationist but didn't follow through. He now works on CAD machines that have something to do with making screws to put people back together. He's 36 and he's a happy Dad with 3 little ones under 5. He says he wouldn't trade it for anything but wishes he followed through with the Yellowstone program. I would bet that people would rarely get a 2nd chance.

Please don't wait too long. I know that symptoms are different for people. My mother just had a heart attack and had trouble breathing and felt a lot of pressure in her chest. Having said that, I hate that eating too much feeling! lol

Saw DR today , not my heart, so I'm good. Will have some tests of course, but I'm sure I'll be fine.
