NY chicken lover!!!!

We had ticks in the spring /early summer, but it got better, I think cause the chickens went all over the lawn. After the coyote they were confined to the pen and electric fence, now we all have ticks, the dog, me, and even my DH. Bella the dog gets the most.

Gru is starting to look like a roo again...

Here is my blue orp chick...(Not sure if I mentioned but I spoke to the girl I got Gru from at the chicken show when I went and she told me that if this chick has blue/gray legs/feet then it wouldn't be a Barred Rock cross? So I guess I got the eggs mixed up and this chick actually did hatch from Stella and IS a true blue orpington!)

Well now see here's the story on being scared of the dark.

A mother needed her broom one night,  from the back porch and told her son to get it.

He replied, " but mommy it 's dark out there".

She said , "Just get me the broom."

He replied, "but mommy it's dark out there and I'm afraid".

She said,   "You don't have to be afraid, God's out there."

So he opens the door and  sticks his head out and says, "God please hand me the broom".  :D

I don't have pics but I've taken colored and white Christmas lights and strung them all around my garden and in the chicken runs.  I also have a spot light on the back of the house.

We live across from the ESM stadium and when there is anything going on there the lights , light up the whole back yard all the way to the woods.

As for eggs?

I just go out carrying the ax and singing,   "Fish gotta swim, birds gotta fly, hen's gotta lay or she's gonna die. Can't help lovin those hen's of mine".  ( From the move Showboat)

That just made my day!!:lau
