NY chicken lover!!!!

It sounds to me like your coop isnt venting the moisture .
Can you open it up during the day to let the moisture out ?
or is there a opening on 2 different sides of your coop ?
if the air has a opening on ONLY one side it wont vent ..the air stays in the coop as it has no where to go

My Roo got frostbite last year because the coop was too air tight ..& I closed them all in
the moisture couldnt escape ..he lost his points on his comb
I think your coop may be too air tight
Im not sure the poop is the problem ..It is more likely their breath as they breathe
I hope this helps ..

I Scored Some new chicken dishes At Walmart .49 each ..got some for popcorn too ! theirs are Red mine are Blue !

Or are their's blue and yours red???

Is that kind of like people getting the flu shot and then getting the flu?

Well I think it might not be so funny, either way. At my age the flu can be fatal. We've been sick with colds. The GK's have it and we've been around them. The article give quite a bit of information. Much more than I can type here.

I read somewhere that if you have a turkey it passes a nonvirulent strain of Marek's to chickens.
I just don't see our little angels ever living outside, no TV out there for them to watch. We don't have Marek's that I know of, inside the house, so we're hoping they're safe! Maybe someday we'll get a turkey for our Silkie to play with. What do you think?
Turkeys, quail and geese can get Mareks.

Yep - they use a virus that turkeys carry to do the vaccine. It's similar enough to marek's that it gives resistance to the disease, but chickens can still get real marek's and they'll just have no symptoms.
I'll try to type more of what the article says or copy it and e-mail it to those who want it.

Nope god made silkies then he took 1 toe off each foot and then made other chickens so they could have subjects to rule over.

Sorry I doubt God had anything to do with making silkies. I was just being kind. I do believe silkies have five toes, so he most likely had left overs from "real" chickens.

Which variety do you want? I assume layer but 15% or the 19%

15 would be fine, they're on 16% layer pellets right now so that should be good.

Someone needed a bath...bad! She's so happy now and wanted to share her "selfie" with Rancher...

Lynzi...she is Beautiful. And how neatly she poses. I think Rancher will LOVE her.

Sorry, I just have to laugh. I understand where you're coming from though. I've known so many people who have gotten the flu shot after debating whether or not to get it, they had never been sick a day in their life, they get the flu shot and then get sick. Me? I'm one of those people. I've never been sick. Nothing more than a headache (or hangover) ;-) I would never get the flu shot because if I got sick I'd be soooooo PO'ed!!!! Lol

So if you doubt god had anything to do with making them then how did he make them with the left overs from other chickens? lol

Sadly i have to defend the aliens I'm going to be hatching some buffs here soon. Well i should say my son is going to hatch them I'm going to supervise him and let him learn. He is already doing work with the chickens i have now. Figure these aint going to be like the other "pets" he wants to show them he will raise them from start to finish only thing i will do is cull for him.
