NY chicken lover!!!!

and just because Cheap Trick is the most under rated band out there... Tom Hamilton may be the best bass player alive, Robin Zander has 1000 voices, all good, and Rick Nielsen on guitar...OMG, talent. 2 more....

A day in the Life...... work of art doing that this good live. The Beatles did it with LOTS of overdubs. Tom Hamiltons bass playing on this and Rick Nielsens TASEFUL guitar work. Simply amazing. Darn it, I am missing my band. Time to form a new one I think.....

Well another thing about Mareks, since you mention cobwebs is the dander from the feathers chickens breath can spread it.  So it might not be to far fetched to dust up the place.  I am concerned.  I've electricity and may need to get a small vac to clean them up.

Another reason I don't want silkies is I don't intend to give them baths.  Good garden o' peas I rarely take one my self.  :lau      That and they fall of the clothes line when I hang them out.  :lau     DW said what's the clunking sound coming from the back yard?   Frozen silkies that's what!  :lau

I DO wish I had a better set up for silkies. Something like the inside of a barn that was cleaner. Their feet feathering gets so gross if not tended to on the regular.
Lynzi,
out down a layer of fresh hay...and as it gets messy....add more fresh hay. We did that with our Call ducks and now with our Silkies.....AND they stay clean. Clean hay...clean chickens.
We use lots of hay...layers and layers. In the Spring we us it as a mulch. It works to keep
our Chickens clean and makes a super mulch on my flower gardens around the Chicken Yard. Regards, Aria

Well i desided to move nest boxes and was going to to move roosts also but desided to just move boxes. I took them down last night to keep them from sleeping in them. And my light Sussex had no problem with lower roost. But i took that out also today. I had one girl sitting on a roost today all fluffed up next thing i know plop an egg comes out. No song or anything. Then i had another girl looking at the wall where the nest boxes normaly are and walking around the coop trying to find them to lay in. I tried making her a cat litter pan with hay but she didn't like it so i had to rehang a nest box while i was working on a different part of coop so she could lay.
