Neosporin it and vet wrap. Soak it some each day. Try to keep poo and shavings out. I see bag balm talked alot on here but have no experiance with it. With my blister i put a little hole in and squeezed it out so she still had outter skin on. I was able to take vet wrap off in like 5 days. You may want to let it fan or air dry after soaking try and let a scab or outer layer of skin to start forming some.

With how it looks i would think of it as your skin missing a few layers just enough to dot bleed and make white blood cells show up.

Just remember to use the Neosporin without pain meds. I believe that is toxin to chickens...on a side note coconut wine with a great friend is the best...I finished the bottle! Salute!

There is no way I can catch up the 400 posts I missed this week. I started to but there are just too many!

I've decided to sell my buff brahma bantams. They are pretty and docile but don't lay in the winter. They make wonderful pets. I lost my favorite and first hen last year. I just don't have the sentiment towards the few that remain.

Good morning all!

Cydney cocnut wine i want to try! This year imma make apple cider and peach something. Im tired of paying for alcohol when i have two apple trees and a peach tree.

Lynzii i hope ur lil one is doing better.

I leave my son hope alone for a few hours while at work, he sold all but one egg . . . Um the idea was to sell the surplus not our breakfast n lunch LOL

Oh yeah so there are two pinics urs in rome n one local to me at natureberry um they both are on sat so i put in for it n got them off yayy!!! My clients will be upset but they can get over it.

Anyways the chickens are good. They free range all day while im at work. Most in my area dont i find they are quieter calmer nicer n happier n healthier so its well worth the risk. There are chicken theifs around but my roo n a few females are pretty nasty so no worries n my neighbors keep n eye out. Even my silkies do fine and i like them much better now. Plus its too much work to kerp em penned up n expensive for me to builda decent pen. My run is only meant for water.

Chick is doing well this morning. Still not standing, well I mean, she'd rather lay of course especially with that big bandage on her foot. But she's looking lively and alert while laying there, eating and drinking. She lays close enough to the food/water so she doesn't have to get up. LOL I'm going out today to pick up some gauze and some of that medical tape that is more flexible to wrap her foot up. I want to be able to leave her toes exposed for better support. Need to pick up some more shavings too while I'm out and about.

OMG...click the link, click the link already..... It will take you to the pictures that show you how to assemble the cutest little snowman out of hard boiled eggs, complete with little carrot hat. If you have children or are having a winter party you have to make these. (If not to eat, then as a center piece.)

I give up. I am just going to wear dirty clothes. I was sucessful in unfreezing the washer pump....now the drain is frozen and I just put 6 of my favorite towels down to soak up the overflow. And now I have an additional load of laundry to wash if I want to take a shower tonight. Laundramat here I come. Sigh.

And now I have an additional load of laundry to wash if I want to take a shower tonight. Laundramat here I come. Sigh.

Where ever the washer is you need to put some form of heat in there. Perhaps an oil filled kind set on medium.

In the spring I'd be putting up some of that foil covered foam board up the entire wall.

I have a friend who has no water cuz the pipe broke and I'd feel bad except they've lived in the house for some time. The situation is not fixed but they go to Ochrekote every year for a week.

Got 3 eggs from Birchen pullet, not very dark, but they should darken up...yeah!

I learned something yesterday. Even if wood shavings say Kiln dried, they are not completely dry. I am having a big problem with the shavings freezing so all the coops floors are frozen solid. Yesterday I went to buy more, and found out that there are degrees of dryness. The large chunk type is not completely dry. The smaller pieces are completely dry so shouldn't freeze up unless they get wet from something else...So I bought the smaller dry shavings & put on top of the frozen shavings. Of course, the birds freaked out when I dumped it in, flying around like idiots, and I ended up with just about the same amount of shavings in my hair as on the floor!

They are lighter so the birds wings whipped up the shavings...argh. But at least today, they floors are not frozen, well, at least the new shavings aren't..
