You are talking to a reformed "Earth Mother"....organic gardening, canned all own veggies, kids never SAW a cup cake til they went to school, etc. I made the best whole wheat pizza dough in the county. People begged to come over for Pizza night. (Ok, ONE person begged, the others were invited. ) But I am reformed. I buy my bread now. Potato bread is the best.

And the whole trick to bread without huge air holes and "tough" texture is the kneeding. (And it's very theraputic....especially that first punch. LOL)

Set my first batch of eggs today!!!! I'm so nervous!!! And excited!!!!!

Ah Cass...I used to make bread every weekend with my mother. Yes, the first punch was theraputic! Now I just dump everything in my bread machine and come back when it beeps done. Fresh bread without all the work. My kids beg me to make and send them some. Didnt bake today or make bread. Trying to stick to good eating habits, which makes me cranky. I would rather have a cookie than a veggie. Dh shoveled out most everything but round two is yet to come. I will be hitting that in the morning. Cheeps are real mad about the snow. I saw them huddled around something in the coop. Turns out it was my missing tablet and they were on travelocity trying to book tickets to cancun. They had my credit card as well. Good thing I checked up on them because airfare alone for 19 chickens is expensive! This isnt Chicken Run and I am not making pot pies, I told them so just deal with it and we will get through this together. Bill prudently hid in the corner.

Hey....not out of milk or eggs! How about that!

A sweet local lady I meat on BYC gave me some practice eggs. Jersy giants and marans. Could be possible mix breed or pure bred she hasn't separated her flock for breeding yet. She also gave me some olive eggers and blue EE's.
also I put in some of my own eggs. They just started laying so idk if that will effect the eggs. But I have a EE roo ( bearded with rose comb) and a Silkie roo. I put in two lakenvelder eggs two light brahma eggs a naked neck egg and a EE egg. Also a bunch of mysterie eggs. I also have Pheonix hens salmon fav, BLRW , WCB Polish and silver spangled H. So we will see what comes out

Looks like all of you east of me are getting snow. On the way home from work the lights were flashing for thruway emergencies. Sounds like they are closing the thruway from Syracuse to NYC and some other major routes.

I will take our 30 degree day today and hope the storm stays away from us. We still have our 2 feet from last week so we don't need anymore

Oh I've set eggs tonight. Some might be EE/Araucana crosses.

I wasn't doubting that, just emphasizing on how I love the ease and security of paying someone. I'm actually in the process of setting up a new website because IF I do have any successful hatches this summer or litters from my rabbits, that's how I'm going to request that payments be made. Just for the fact of possibly being stood up by a CL person. If you're that interested in something, you'll pay for it up front. JMO
