NY chicken lover!!!!

I'll tell ya'll one thing. I love this egg poacher I got. I use it more of a mcmuffin cooker though. It holds 2 bantam eggs or 1 bantam 1 small but that's pushing it. I break the yolks and put alittle bacon grease so it slides out easier. I use that same grease for like 10 times before washing and redoing a few drops of grease in it. Just thought I would share it since I just got done eating an egg and cheese bagel. I use one like this and love it. So nice being able to let it sit on stove and walk away with out worry of it burning in a few min. Only down side is eggs are kinda moist when done but I use paper plate and flip them on that a time or two or just toast stuff alittle more and let the egg soften the bread up.

Sorry a out the heat woes. It really stinks in this climate to not be able to feel warm. You are right on the withholding. I always claimed zero, except once when somebody from Personnel helped me...that was a bad year. That strategy worked well when both DH and I worked for others, but then he started working for himself...and we never got a refund again. Now I am retired, so tax time is when I wish I could take about a month off...I'll go anywhere.

Furnace fixed for another $160. I've spent enough this winter to buy a new one. Anybody else have their electric bill double? Read it was because the coal and atomic plants are going off line prematurely due to new regulations and there is a shortage of natural gas, so the generation plants are burning fuel oil.

mine has but that's because of heaters. I haven't heard of other stuff going up but I know propane is through the roof and there is a shortage of it atm. They are only filling tanks to 50% for people. I cant remember if it was county I live in or ny but someone was saying they was talking about building a storage for propane to help keep the prices more regulated through winter instead of shipping so much into state having a reserve of it stocked up.

I've been doing much better since I'm on a n allergy pill. Used to suffer terrible. Of course I no longer work so not around sick people much either. Employers who make sick people show up make me sick. No pun intended. Well maybe just a little pun intended.

I have alcohol wipes next to the computer for wipe downs. Shared computers are the worst. That and phones.

and doorknobs. Do NOT forget doorknobs. Who knows what the last person did with their hands just before they left the room.

Well I'm glad it's fixed and I hope safe. Every time we had ours checked out they said it would go at any moment. The year we had it replaced it just did not sound right to me when it kicked on.

I had not noticed but we are on the budget and THAT did go up about $36. Last year the settle up bills were $113 more than our budget payment and I complained that it was to much to have to come up with that much extra. Still what we pay is not to much I think.

I know but they don't make little cans of Lysol spray.

I know some think I'm exaggerating but if I get a cold it stays and stays. I didn't get my flu shot this year either.

Actually they do. Make little cans of lysol. (check the travel size section of the store) But alcohol wipes work on doorknobs too.

WARNING: If you have a weak stomach stop reading here.

When I did day care I had a woman (who's bill was being paid for by Social Services) who's son was ALWAYS sick. Runny nose that never quit. I watched her wipe his nose with HER HAND and then wipe it on her jeans. Ewwww. THEN she opened my door and left my house to go to work. From that moment on I ran a Clorox Disinfecting wipe on the door knob twice a day. The first time after all the parents had dropped off and the second time after all the parents had picked up. I don't trust ANYONE any more with my health. I disinfect it or don't touch it.

Yes my daughter doesn't work and they do okay too. My single daughter had a fit since she works two jobs and no kids. I did tell her to go and have more money withheld since the new withholding cuts have made for more people paying than getting a return.

Our system is set up to penalize those who are ambitious and those who might move to a higher tax bracket. Point being don't be to angry with your sister and hers. There's no such thing as a little help. It's all or nothing. We were always in a position of making just enough to keep from getting help, but not enough to get us over the hump.

Too there will always be those who will never earn enough. We can't all be Doctors, lawyers and nurses. Some folks just don't have the IQ or personality for such jobs. The factory jobs of the past are mostly gone. These were the jobs your brother in law might have had. The middle class is becoming an endangered species.

Moving on
I'm not upset with her for the most part and I'm glad that they get enough of a refund that they can catch up on their bills. What I am upset with is her husband. He is in a dead end job at a gas station that he has had for longer then she has known him and he has no ambition to better their life. He is content with working there not making enough money to support his wife and 2 kids. Now my sister isn't getting off either. She should have never stopped working after they had their first kid, but then they went and had another. Now don't get me wrong I love my niece and nephew, but they should have thought twice before they let them selves get where they are. He is a big kid and a momma's boy and lets his mother walk all over them Comes home and just wants to play video games, drink beer and smoke something instead of using that money for his kids. He never wants to watch the kids long enough for my sister to take a shower. He comes home and says that he doesn't want to watch the kids cause he just got done with his job and wants to relax. I don't know how my sister puts up with him and his family. And now my other sister is getting married to his cousin...lord help me..How did the 3 of us get raised by the same mother and end up so polar different!
