NY chicken lover!!!!

There was an article in the paper recently that said chickens weren't allowed but if some one had them and there were no complaints folks weren't bothered. Trust me as a former letter carrier there are chickens in the city.

My guess is with a privacy fence, folks could keep ducks in the city.

The article was about a man in Earlville. I think if you googled it you'd find it. In his case I believe it was all political.
Oh I'm not doubting that!

I just hate to see ducks go to a living arrangement that isn't suitable for them and that's what I keep trying to tell this person. I keep asking them here abouts they are located in Syracuse and they won't really tell me. Ducks need more than just a kiddie pool and I don't think they get that.

It sounds like they are doing this on a whim, and you sense that it would not be good for the ducks. So tell them no. You could say that you have decided that you want to keep them, which would be true for the moment.

I just did...I'm sure they'll keep emailing me but owell. I these guys to go to a good home where they can roam around and forage. Not be penned up all day or confined to a certain small amount of living space.

Any chance they came down while you were away ? I'm glad I didn't get Guineas. Are these all girls? Hope they come in soon.
Only 1 so far, but I can, at least, see the other 3 all huddled as we get blasted by this arctic wind. I have tried so many things to entice them...they just are not ready to come back to the coop. I am pretty sure I have at least 1 female, but guineas are hard to tell.

To the NY chicken coop.

as for what to tell or not tell a spouse I was not advocating lying. Never lie to your spouse. Termites in your Troth/Trust and all that.

I know DW will not care about the ducklings but she has been going through some medical stuff and I don't want to stress her anymore than need be. After 37 years of marriage we know each other pretty well.

I NEVER lie to DH. I sometimes withhold information. With our order, I just told him that I ordered something and that it wasn't chickens. I didn't order the chick. They were a game time decision. So you see I never lied! A lie is a very bad and it can always come back to bit you in the end!

Well if they won't tell you where they're located it a good bet they're not on the up and up. I once told a guy straight out when he wanted to meet at night in the parking garage of Shoppingtown mall. No.

I invite everyone I meet to join us here on BYC. Not many do. Sure there are serious breeders on here but there are more hobbyist and they don't care about what to cross to what. They just want to talk chickens and share their experience. You dig?

You probably need to get some Ducks. You're much closer to the creek than I am.

The TSC in Cortland has their chicks. They have black sexlink, production red, black australorp, reds(not sure what they are that is all it said) and they have baby ducks they said that they were a mixed batch but most were Rouen.

I walked in the door and I could hear them. I would love to bring them all home they are so cute. I got back in the car and told DH that they were in there. He said "You are NOT getting any!" I reassured him that I was done for now...unless I find a cuckoo silkie hen then it is on!

Actually mine are really happy with just a kiddie pool. We have a seasonal spring wet spot that they love too but they really like their pool. That's not to say you should have sold them to that guy, though! Really shady that he wouldn't tell you where he was and that he kept pushing. Sounds almost like he knows full well he's not supposed to have them and keeps trying anyway.
