Rancher, will put your DW in our daily prayers for good health!
Armor, we aren't supposed to have roosters either. The town doesn't want the neighbors disturbed. Last summer we heard crowing from the back neighbor! How nice! We hatched 3 gorgeous birds and they are a riot. They live in the kitchen and walk around with us during the day. They are about 10 weeks and they all have spurs but we don't know if they are hens or roosters yet. One makes a little honking noise, so we aren't sure how loud they will get. We are very attached to them. One sits on my shoulder. They cook with us, we play them music and they watch TV with us. Tried to upload a pic of the frizzle, likes to sleep in my lap, so cute! There are a lot of people in the city with chickens and other livestock but since city people keep them inside, as long as the neighbors don't tell, it may work for a while. We keep a separate Dyson vacuum next to their area so that if any feathers drop we suck them up right away. We have to get them some outfits, diapers and those little jackets soon.
We aren't too sure about treats, but I dropped a pot of linguini and some spilled out so I offered them a noodle. Fredo was hilarious, went crazy for the linguini. There was nothing on it, totally plain. Ours had alfredo sauce with baby shrimp, but the birds, nothing. I'm a little worried about the Silkie, the other 2 eat good, but the Silkie appears to be visually impaired when it tries to eat so I let it eat separately sometimes.
Been out a lot, taking care of the folks as best as I can (dressing changes, groceries, medications, dr.s apptmts, etc.), so haven't been on lately. Stay warm everyone!
