NY chicken lover!!!!

I have BO, RIR, EE's and a Brahma. Where do you get the wooden eggs? I have golf balls in mine right now.
AC Moore carries them. I buy regular or duck sized eggs. Unpainted is okay. Though they get dirty and washed, they don't last forever.

I think it deters egg eating but can't be sure. I think many broken eggs are due to soft shells as layer feed does not have enough calcium.

Thank you Rancher. I ordered some on Amazon last night, I hate going to the store so I do most my shopping online lol. On another note, I picked up my Speckled Sussex trio last night. They are so beautiful! The rooster is already proving to be a trouble maker tho...he came after me after I gave them treats this morning. I told him I enjoy mean rooster soup, I hope he got the point

So I bought meaties from TSC and have been limiting their food intake some. I've been using one of the long feeders with holes in it so they have to put head in and filling that like twice a day. Today I filled a putty trough and they ate just about all of it. Their crops are soo huge right now. Trying to not get the huge sickly looking meat birds that are too lazy to stand. But right now I don't think they could stand if they wanted to with how big the crop is.

Cant wait for the chicken stock getting 3 new roosters and this guy will be put down like right after or maybe a few weeks after when new ones are ready to take over the ladies.

My black jap bantam thought she was broody. She was sitting in nest box for like 3 days not budging except when I opened the door in morning to eat and drink then she went back if another hen wasn't in that nest box. So I took the eggs out and she changed boxes for a day then decided she was done with that and now running all around the yard. Was so funny to see such a small black bird trying to sit on all the golf balls and fake eggs in there along with a few real eggs.

Millie Hen and Roo D'Uccle :) Aren't they cute ? I was reading at that table and they came over and preened on the railing near me. Bakin - that is the roo I am holding for you ....

Anyone locally (albany/schoharie area) have duck hatching eggs? I have a teacher friend who wants to hatch them in the classroom. Mixed breeds are fine, I'll be taking the ducklings and don't mind lots of color!

Thanks!
